Three Himalayan glaciers have been shrinking over the past 40 years due to global warming and two of them, located in humid regions and on lower altitudes in central and east Nepal, may disappear in the future, researchers in Japan said on Tuesday.

The Himalayas is an enormous mountain range consisting of about 15,000 glaciers and some of the world’s highest peaks, including the 8,848m-high Mount Everest and K2.

I have been riding up into the mountains every afternoon. A couple of days ago I rode up a 15% grade for two miles at 99 degrees in direct sunlight. By the time I got to the top I was drenched with perspiration and it felt like 140 degrees. I think it was a new record heat index and I want it published in the Guinness Book of World Records.

My bicycle was the hottest location in the history of earth, except for under Al Gore’s house where it is millions of degrees.

US debt crisis: Barack Obama tells America it must live within its means

President Barack Obama said that the debt bill finally passed by Congress on Tuesday was only the “first step” towards ensuring the world’s most powerful economy lived within its means.

Step 2 is to get rid of the moron who doubled the national debt in less than three years.

It is becoming increasingly clear that sea ice in the Arctic is largely controlled by Pacific Ocean temperatures. During the long period of cold Pacific water prior to 1977, the ice became quite thick.

During the 1980s and 1990s, the Pacific Ocean was very warm and a lot of ice got pushed out into the North Atlantic – where it melted.

Now that the Pacific is cold again post 2007, the ice is starting to thicken and less is being transported into the Atlantic. It really isn’t that complicated.

I stumbled on an interesting blog by a Canadian currently living in Grenoble, France. This caught my attention because I used to work nearby in Meylan. Grenoble is where the Bastille is located – and hundreds of pizza restaurants.

We all know that we have to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution and eventually reach zero emissions (by about 2050 according to European  climate scientists). Indeed top climate scientists and biologists  are telling us that reaching zero emissions is not enough – we then have to reduce atmospheric  carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration from the current 394 parts per million (ppm) to 350 ppm (according to 350.org) and thence to 300 ppm (according to the latest science-informed 300.org: https://sites.google.com/site/300orgsite/300-org—return-atmosphere-co2-to-300-ppm ).

Because of extraordinary Mainstream media censorship in Lobbyocracy Australia, few Australians realize that Australia has already exceeded its “fair share” of permissible global GHG pollution before science-demanded  zero emissions in 2050 and is now greedily stealing the entitlement of other countries. Australia has become a climate criminal country with a disproportionate involvement in a worsening global climate genocide.

Having come through one of the mildest 30 year periods in history, the US press is engaged in record whining and hysterics over what was once considered the normal vagaries of weather. This is an indication of a lame culture, rather than a shift in the climate.

Adding misery to the unprecedented triple digit heat, agriculture was being crushed by the worst drought in US history.
