Navy Forecasting Little Ice Extent Loss This Week
In August 2007, the East Siberian Sea ice edge was shrinking very rapidly. This year it is expanding.
On April 19, I warned that the Arctic was likely to be a disaster for alarmists this year.

Why The Slow Artic Melt?
Temperatures have been very cold recently in central Siberia, and as a result there is little melt or compaction going on in the East Siberian Sea. So I guess the permafrost is not belching out methane, as the Chicken Little squadron had feared.

Forecast Verification
A week ago I made a forecast for JAXA through August 1 (dotted line.) As you can see, my forecast was a little high. My system probably does a better job of measuring 30% ice than 15% ice, so my forecast matches closer with DMI than JAXA.

Obama 2006 : “raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure”
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoQ4ujxsNjc]
“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies…
Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
– Barack Obama

Shock News : Cold And Wet At The Same Time
Jeff Masters says that above normal precipitation and snowfall is caused by unusually warm air.
Cool February ends cold, wet summer
March 04, 2008 12:00AMSYDNEY has had its first summer in 50 years without a day above 31C, with rainfall 40 per cent above average.
The summer of 2007-08 was colder and wetter than average over much of the country, with a particularly cool February, according to Blair Trewin of the National Climate Centre.
“Daytime maximum temperatures in February for Australia were the seventh-coolest on record,” he said.
NSW had the second-lowest average daytime maximum temperature on record – figures have been compiled since 1950 – and Sydney received 422mm of rainfall, compared with an average of 298mm.
Snow in Florida must require extremely warm air!
