The Norwegian shooter stood on a rock for two hours and gunned down children while the adults stood by helplessly.
In Switzerland, ownership of a rifle by adults is essentially mandatory. His reign of terror (using illegal weapons) would have been over in a matter of seconds. People in charge of children need to be prepared to defend them.
Norway’s Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, who said after the attack, “You will not destroy us. You will not destroy our democracy and our ideals for a better world.”
Empty words. It will happen again unless you arm your citizenry. The shooter was a lone madman. There is no conspiracy, just a vulnerable nation which has fallen victim to pacifism.
These people always go after places where they know there are no guns – like Columbine and Virginia Tech. Adults need to stop being victims and start acting like adults.
