California Gov. Gavin Newsom canceled his planned trip to Glasgow, Scotland, for the United Nations climate conference in a surprise announcement Friday morning, citing “family obligations.”
“Due to family obligations, Governor Newsom will no longer be traveling to the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) and will instead be participating virtually, focusing on California’s landmark climate change policies,” spokeswoman Erin Mellon wrote in a statement.

Polar Bears Granted 70 Year Reprieve
Fifteen years ago, it was announced that polar bears will be extinct in 25 years due to vanishing sea ice.

Since then there has been no change in Arctic sea ice extent.

Now experts say polar bears “could vanish” by the end of the century.

They also said that satellite records began in 1979 :
“Arctic sea ice has been steadily decreasing since the beginning of satellite records in 1979”
The 1990 IPCC report said satellite records began in the early 1970s when ice extent was much lower.
The increase in Arctic sea ice didn’t suit the agenda, so in the 2001 IPCC report they altered the data.

The Arctic was much warmer five thousand years ago and may have been ice-free. Polar Bears survived just fine.
