In order to get a big summer melt of Arctic sea ice, there has to be a lot of melting in June when the sun is highest in the sky.  This year it is snowing.

The Washington Post Capital Weather Gang is making more unsupportable claims about weather, and attributing it to climate. They say heatwaves are getting worse, that India is having record heat, and that last May was hottest on record in the US.  None of these claims are true.

Last May was not a particularly hot month in the US.  It had a high average maximum temperature (third highest  after 1934 and 1936) due to a lack of cold fronts, but there was little hot weather.

The frequency of days over 90F wasn’t even in the top ten. May 1934, 1911 and 1962 were much hotter.

Same story with 95 degree days.

May 1934 was much hotter in the US, with unprecedented heat of 109 degrees in Iowa and 108 degrees in Minnesota.

The whole country was blistering hot.

According to the National Climate Assessment, heatwaves have dropped off sharply in the US over the past 90 years.

Thirty years ago, global warming experts predicted water levels in the Great Lakes would fall by eight feet.

Instead, water levels are at a record high.  No problem for climate alarmists though – they simply blame their incompetence on climate change.

I posted a video earlier documenting that the US was coolest and wettest on record since October. Then someone named Dave Carlson steps in and explains that the record cold is proof of record heat. Followed by Brian Johnson who claims that India just set their all time record of 123.8F.

Sounds bad … we really messed the climate up.  Except that it was just as hot or hotter in India in 1935, and 1953, and 1966 ….
