Five Years Since ISIS Appeared

On August 7, 2013 newspapers all across the US announced a new terror group, who by sheer coincidence had just achieved one of the key military objectives of Barack Obama and John McCain in Syria.

More Spectacular Climate Fraud By The New York Times

The New York Times says satellite images were first used to study sea ice in 1979, and that ice is disappearing due to global warming.

We Charted Arctic Sea Ice for Nearly Every Day Since 1979. You’ll See a Trend. – The New York Times

Here is a beautiful photo of Arctic sea ice taken by Apollo 16 in 1972, seven years before 1979.

In 1965, National Geographic published Arctic satellite imagery – fourteen years before the fake New York Times start date of 1979.

Here is a detailed satellite image of Antarctic sea ice from 1976, also published in National Geographic.

The National Geographic Archive | November 1976 | page 1

According to the Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (1990 IPCC report) – NOAA has sea ice satellite data going back to the early 1970s. You can see why the New York Times cherry picked the 1979 start date, because it was the high point.  By starting at the top of the mountain, all directions go down. They lied to their readers about the 1979 start of satellite records, and it is clear why they did that.

“in 1972-1975 sea-ice extent was significantly less”

1990 IPCC Report

In 1971, National Geographic published a very detailed map of Arctic sea ice. Extent this year is not terribly different from 1971.

1971                 2018

At the time, the New York Times was worried about expanding Arctic ice and a new ice age.

This 1985 DOE climate change report had Arctic sea ice data back to 1925, which showed little ice from the 1930s to the 1950s.

If we combine the 1985 DOE graph with the 1990 IPCC graph, it becomes even more apparent why the New York Times cherry picked the 1979 start date. It was the century high point in Arctic ice extent.

In 1958, the ice was disappearing rapidly, and the New York Times predicted the Arctic would be ice-free soon.

But three years later, there was unanimous consensus for global cooling, as reported by the New York Times.

January 30, 1961 – NYTimes

The polar ice cap expanded 12% by 1975, after shrinking 12% before 1958. Icelandic ports were blocked with ice for the first time in the 20th century. The New York Times doesn’t want their readers to know about this.

Looking at a graph of Icelandic temperatures, it again becomes clear why the New York Times cherry-picked their start date of 1979 – it was the coldest year on record in Iceland and the highest ice extent. Temperatures are no warmer in Iceland now than the were in the 1940s.

Actual scientists understand that these swings in Arctic temperature sea ice are controlled by ocean currents, not CO2. If the New York Times was an actual newspaper, they would have reported on this.

NOAA data shows September 30 Arctic sea ice extent trending upwards since the start of MASIE records in 2006. This year will  continue the upwards trend. The New York Times claim that summer sea is is declining is patently false.

It is not surprising that end of summer sea ice extent is increasing. Summers have been running consistently below normal temperatures in the Arctic for years.  That is the only time the ice can melt.

The New York Times is hiding data, cheating with their graphs, lying about history, lying about the future, lying about science, contradicting themselves, ignoring history, ignoring the past failures of climate scientists, and intentionally defrauding their readers about Arctic sea ice. This appears to be standard operating procedure for New York Times journalists.

Playing Whack A Mole With The Udall Family

For decades, carpetbagging Udalls have been the scourge of the southwest.  We recently got rid of ours in Colorado. A new one as popped up though in Fort Collins.

Over the last century, the river’s flow has declined by around 16 percent, even as annual precipitation slightly increased in the Upper Colorado River Basin.

The Colorado River is evaporating, and climate change is largely to blame

River flow is down 16%, as precipitation has increased over the past century.  The math works out perfectly, because up to 65% of the Colorado River water is being diverted across the Continental Divide to the Front Range. Udall believes this diversion is “climate change.”

Lake Powell was built in the 1960’s which also evaporates massive amounts of water upstream from Lake Mead.

Drought is the normal climate of the west. “The 20th century was wetter than normal.”

“Scientists who study the West’s long-term climate patterns say that California has had multiple droughts of 10 or 20 years in a row during the past 1,000 years — and two severe “megadroughts” of 180 years and 240 years.”

Daily CNN/Guardian Climate Fraud Update

“We will know our disinformation program is complete, when everything the American public believes is false”

William Casey  CIA Director 1981

Last week, CNN, The Guardian and many other fake news agencies reported Arctic sea ice north of Greenland is breaking up for the first time ever, and it was due to “climate change.”

The Guardian said it was the last ice area, and it was scary.

The whole story was complete nonsense. There was less ice north of Greenland in September 2002 than there is this year.

New Ice-Free Arctic Date

Based on current volume ice loss trends, I predict with 97% confidence the Arctic will be ice-free on July 29, 2021 at 11:42 AM.

Ice loss this year was fourth lowest on record, with all of the lowest four years occurring since 2013.

This shouldn’t surprise anyone, because summers have been running cold in the Arctic in recent years.

Shortest Arctic Melt Season On Record?

As it stands right now, August 31 was the date of minimum sea ice extent in the MASIE record. This is the first year the minimum occurred during August.  The map below shows ice gain and loss since August 31.

Unburying The Past

Roman soldiers would frequently bury their coins before they went off to war.  Many never returned  or couldn’t remember where their 0% interest bank was.  People with metal detectors find these stashes after 2,000 years of oxidation and sell them on E-Bay.

I bought a stash of these from Croatia, and am finding some gems down underneath all the dirt and rust.

One common design on the tail side, was very similar to that on the back of the 1959 British threepence.

Yet Another Climate Refugee

Thirty years ago this month I moved from Sedona to Houston.  Monster hurricane Gilbert was forming and headed towards Houston – after destroying my favorite town in Mexico. A few weeks earlier NASA’s James Hansen had predicted Lower Manhattan would be underwater by 2018.  The summer of 1988 was very hot, very dry, Yellowstone nearly burned up, the Mississippi River nearly dried up, and Gilbert was the most powerful hurricane on record. Obviously Hansen was correct – at least until Katharine Hayhoe erased the heat of 1988.

https://realclimatescience.com/2018/09/close-enough-for-government-work/

On my way out of Arizona, my trusty German Shepherd and I stopped at a convenience store and collected my $60 for picking four numbers in the lottery.  That night we slept under stars in West Texas which were so bright you could read a book by them. It was very cold that night, and there was frost by morning.

Gilbert missed Houston, and thirty years later I’m headed back to soon to be RINO-free Arizona – to work for a few months. It has already turned cold in Boulder, and I’m looking forward to the Arizona sun. High temperature yesterday in Boulder was 65 degrees, coldest September 5th since 1929.

Chalk me up as one more climate refugee fleeing to Arizona to escape the cold weather.
