August 12, 1936 : Hottest Day On Record In Texas And Oklahoma

August 12, 1936 was the hottest day on record in Texas and Oklahoma. at 120 degrees.  It was 119 in Kansas that day, and 111 in Nebraska and Missouri.  Oklahoma hit 120 degrees on four days that summer.

On this date in 1944, almost the entire US was over 90 degrees, with 100 degree temperatures from Washington state to Maine.

There was also a big heatwave in the central plains on this date in 1913 – the year California set the world’s record temperature of 134 degrees..

Cold Southern Hemisphere

Sea surface temperatures south of 20S are running well below normal.

And cold air from Antarctica is spilling across most of Australia.

But never mind the cold.  Experts say Australia “could” get really hot.

If we keep pumping CO2 into the atmosphere, Australia might even get as hot as it was when CO2 was below 300 PPM.

Plummeting August 11th Temperatures In The US

August 11th afternoon temperatures have plummeted in the US over the past century. This day in 1944 was the hottest day on record in Bernie’s home town of Burlington, Vermont – at 101 degrees.

On this date in 1944, almost two-thirds of the US was over 90 degrees.

On this date in 1935 and 1944, forty-two percent of the US was over 95 degrees.

On this date in 1935, more than one-fourth of the US was over 100 degrees.

Three weeks later was the most intense hurricane in US history.

August 11 used to be a very hot day in the US.

The climate is much better know, but leftists are just as insane as they were in 1935 – completely off the rails.

Climate Fascists At Work

“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete, when everything the American public believes is false”

The Ministry of Truth is starting their big push to remove all factual information from the Internet.

If leftists actually believed their ideas, they would be eager to debate. Instead they refuse debate and demand censorship.

Why Arctic Sea Ice Extent Is Misleading

Sea ice extent maps and graphs can be extremely misleading.  Climate alarmists believe the ice in the Eastern Arctic Basin is melting.

Index of /DATASETS/NOAA/G02135/north/daily/images/2018/08_Aug/

Reality is that the ice is being consolidated and compacted by the wind, which makes it more difficult to melt.

Sadly for team climate fraud, the winds have stopped, and now extent is hardly changing.

‘All We Need Is A Parking Lot, Air Conditioner, Golf Course And Airstrip”

Climate experts measured a record hot month at Death Valley next to a parking lot, a giant air conditioner exhaust, an airstrip and a golf course.

Meanwhile, the same people want to erase the 1913 record of 134 degrees, which was taken correctly at a properly sighted thermometer.

Ice-Free Arctic Prophesy Update

The world’s leading climate scientist “echoing work by other scientists” prophesied ten years ago that the Arctic would be ice-free between 2013 and 2018.

The Argus-Press – Google News Archive Search

Faced with the failure of his forecasts, he officially switched to a life of crime (i.e. left-wing politics) in 2013.

All hope is not lost however for the prophet.  Current volume loss rates show that the Arctic will indeed be ice-free on October 21, at 10:58 am.

Ice volume is third highest since 2003, and volume loss is third lowest since 2003.

Spreadsheet    Data

Ice extent loss has also slowed to a crawl, with essentially no change over the past 24 hours.

With temperatures below freezing in the Beaufort Sea, prophet Hansen is going to have to leave his comfortable fossil fuel powered office in Pennsylvania, and join Reggie and Al in the Arctic with a blowtorch.

Least Extreme Summer On Record In The US

The summer of 2018 has (so far) brought the smallest number of daily record temperatures and the smallest number of all time record maximum temperatures in the US.

The number of record daily precipitation events has been trending downwards and is twelfth smallest in the last fifty years.

Spreadsheet

The number of tornadoes in 2018 has been second smallest on record.

And there have been no US hurricane strikes. By this date in 1886, the US had already been hit by four hurricanes, and was about to be hit by a fifth.
