The data didn’t support the idea of catastrophic global warming, so they simply altered it for later reports.

Yep, and without so much as a “how do you do” reference to the dozens of historical scientific papers that produced the 1990 graphs. When a person writes a seminal paper overturning decades of research, and does not even refer to that research, well all I can say is its worse then we thought. No serious scientist would defend Mann.
That’s why it’s impossible to take IPCC claims too seriously. I’m sure there is a lot of good research buried in those reports, but regrettably the process makes their conclusions untrustworthy.

Never in the field of human science has so much been paid to so few to snooker so many.
Dr. Mann’s dishonest claim contradicted DECADES of validated research in Geology,History,Archeology and Meteorology fields that showed clear evidence of the MWP and the LIA as being real and with strong impact on the planet.
Yet we still have idiotic CAGW believers fighting against the well published reality with embarrasing attacks with their pseudoscience and their brain dead support of the H.S. paper that was throughly beaten down as being garbage by several people and presentations.
They need to go back to following real science again and regain their manhood in the process.
They understood that research existed and couldn’t simply pretend that it wasn’t there so they did acknowledge it but then decided to claim that the warming was a ‘local’ event.
Nice job on that last graph Steve.
With a little more work and enlargement it will make a nice poster for the hoax. It needs real clear labeling:
For the overlay I suggest red label that says “Pre-Hoax IPCC Report”
For the hockey stick I suggest black label that says “Post-Hoax Mann-made AGW propaganda”
Bonus: we need a cartoon of Mann squeezing the early graph in a vice.
