  1. 1957chev says:

Another crack-pot, whining about ice-cracks….yawn. Let us know if something serious happens. Other than that, forget about it Oppenheimer!

  2. _Jim says:

    Wind-shift cracks; they (it) happen(s) …

What Michael? You didn’t know that arctic ice is sea-based ice, not land-based ice? Silly scientist … and Trix are for kids …

  3. gator69 says:

His ‘flight’ back? If these frauds were not frauds, they would lead by example, and telecommute. What a lowlife lying POS.

    • squid2112 says:

Gator, he wasn’t lying about the cracks, he’s just seems to stupid to realize that it is freaking SUMMER! .. He is a complete buffoon. He will get around to the lies a little later, I’m sure.

      • gator69 says:

I didn’t call him a liar for his comments on cracks. I called him a liar because he is a liar. Anyone on the inside of this scam knows they are lying.

  4. darrylb says:

M.O. is one of the main players. All of it really is quite amazing.

  5. jimash1 says:

Looks like some really prime, Polar Bear, seal hunting grounds .
    These guys are never happy.

  6. Latitude says:

    …the poor penguins

  7. stewart pid says:

Any idea where the turd was flying back from and if this really is the ice cap near the pole as claimed? The alarmists have a tendency to lie and you can always tell when they are lying since their lips are moving, they are texting or they are adjusting temperature data 😉

  8. Password protected says:

Ya just get the feeling these guys would LOVE to see no ice.

    • squid2112 says:

So would I, quite frankly. The I could point at the imbeciles and laugh, saying “I told you nothing would happen even if the Arctic did completely melt … see! .. told you so!”

    • Beale says:

Of course they would. They’re getting desperate because it isn’t happening.

  9. You would be surprised how people who think that when sea ice melts, the sea level rises. If you run into one these at a party, fill a glass 3/4 full of water and add cubes until the tops of some cubes are sticking up above the rim, but the water level is just at the rim. Ask them to pretend the cubes are chunks of floating sea ice, and if they think the glass will overflow when they melt. Make sure nobody messes with the glass. When the ice has melted, and the water level is unchanged, try to explain to them what “displacement” is. Good luck.

    • squid2112 says:

actually, the level in your glass will slightly decrease … Frozen water displaces more volume than liquid. It is one of the magical properties of water.

      • Robert Austin says:

Actually, no. Archimedes yelled Eureka in the bathtub when he discovered the law of buoyancy. The ice cube floats like an ice berg with a fraction of its volume above the water line. When it melts, the liquid water fits exactly into the former volume displaced by the ice cube.

  10. mjc says:

I can’t for the life of me, figure ANY flight path that would go from Bulgaria to anywhere that goes near the pole…unless the flight was INTENDED to enter polar regions. Bulgaria runs from about 41N to 44N, it’s roughly around the same latitude as the central part of Italy!

    I call bullshit.

    • kbray in california says:

After I plotted the flights, I saw that my guess was way off.
Although, I have flown from Europe to California and have grazed the Arctic depending on the jet stream and the weather.

Since he is associated with Princeton, NJ, I am assuming he would fly into JFK.

The meeting in Malaysia at the same time as Bulgaria and fits the flight path.
Hong Kong to New York goes over the pole… see above.

Pardon the mess in my pants.

  11. northernont says:

Guess the extra radiation doses he received from these polar flights has fried his brain.

  12. Robertv says:

Do we know if these people have to pass TSSA control ?

    • Robertv says:

      We know radiation is accumulative.

      • northernont says:

I was referring to higher radiation levels resulting from the magnetic attraction that the polar regions exerts on charged radioactive particles from space. Each flight is equivalent to 3 chest x-rays and considerably higher when solar storms flare up.

  13. Billy Liar says:

Looks like 9/10ths+ of ice to me. Call me when it’s 1/10th.

  14. Fred from Canuckistan says:

Not a damn rowboat or kayak in sight. What is happening, all the global warming wannbe adventurers gone all pussy just because of a little teensy, tiny bit of ice

  15. Hugh K says:

Meanwhile unlike Oppenheimer, President Zero and the rest of the climate cultists, most Americans are only focused on the truly dangerous cracks on our southern border. #saveourborders

  16. inMAGICn says:

In August 1958, the USS Skate, SSN-578, surfaced at the North Pole. It was noted at the time there was a singular lack of ice at the pole.

This lack was clearly due to carbon dioxide forcing from steam locomotives, Sunday barbeques,
and people driving ’55 Chevy station wagons and muscle cars.

  17. Phil Jones says:

    An Idea for this BLOG:

Our education system is wrought with messages about Global Warming…. We had Captain Planet on TV for years spouting to young minds how evil your yall corporations are… Despite the fact these same kids play XBox and use IPads all the time…

Nowhere in Public Education is any skepticism put forth…

How about creating a section on the Blog for educators and individuals which logically presents the Skeptic case? Like a presentation or PowerPoint outlining a the major flaws and lies of the Warmists?? Could include a few failed predictions from high profile people like Al Gore.. His laughably failed predictions… Introduce the idea of Continental Sublimation … NY IS SINKING… Sea Level is barely rising over 100 years… The Worldsy oldest Tide Gage shows no Ocean rise… Could have a sample “computer model” which takes all the kids grades… And rounds them down one full letter grade… So a B becomes a C…. Ask the kids if that’s fair… Cause it’s the same thing NOAA does in reverse!! Add in a couple example assumptions… Like “normalizing” kids scores to previous years lower scores… And reducing grades for those who sit in close proximity to smart kids… Those are some sample bias assumptions… Ask students if that’s “fair”??

Add in a few ClimateGate emails for kids to read… Ask them to explain what they just read… Tell them who these people are… Explain their positions of power…. like thenPrincipal or your teachers… How would you feel if these Authorities were lying to kids about.. Say school safety?

    Any other ideas? Thoughts??

  18. Justa Joe says:

The pic looks like it was taken pretty low for a commercial airline flight.

  19. Rick K says:

Why is he flying? Isn’t that against the rules?

    • Morgan says:

Yeah, but it’s the evil jet fuel companies that force everybody to fly around the world instead of sailing or rowing. This hypocritical douchebag thinks he’s solving the global warming problem by flying to Europe when he could be swimming.

  20. catweazle666 says:

Skate (SSN-578), surfaced at the North Pole, 17 March 1959 – before the beginning of the summer melt.

    http://wattsupwiththat.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/uss-skate-open-water.jpg?w=640

Amusingly, a few years ago, the Moonbat blog over at the Grauniad was asserting that these photos were faked and had been planted in USN archives by evil climate denialists, because everyone knows there was never any clear water at the North Pole in the 1950s.

    • inMAGICn says:

Good point on the March1959 surfacing. The Skate surfaced several times in theArctic on that particular voyage.

  21. rw says:

Oppenheimer has probably won the Bill McKibben award for the most inane climate comment of the month. It’s not in the same league as the one about melting street lights (but McKibben is a master at this sort of thing). But for a new contender this is not bad at all.
