Climate Flees To Colorado

Record cold and snow in the East, Heavy rain headed to California. Southeast Australia experiencing record summer cold. Bitter cold in Europe. Alaska in the deep freeze.

But Colorado is warm, so look for alarmists to turn their attention that direction.

I just got back from a bike ride just outside Boulder. It’s definitely short sleeve weather today. We’re probably safe from the coldest temps, but the biggest snow falls tend to come near the end of winter.

    • It was pleasant but definitely winter weather in Eldora. Good thing the wind was trending down all day.
Last Sunday they never opened the lifts because of wind gusts—over 60 miles per hour in Nederland and worse than that at the mountain top. I don’t remember when was the last time they cancelled a whole day.

  2. I noticed on CNN on January 6th they reported that Salt Lake City was below their average snowfall (which, by definition, happens half of the time). Then acted alarmed to report that Salt Lake City had no snow so far this year…. On January 6th! Wow! Six days without Snow. Must be a record.

  3. SMS says:

And warm it is. I’ll enjoy it as long as I can.

I’ve frozen my ass off here in Colorado during the most significant warm years on record and it’s time I got a break.

Alarmist I know in Maine told me in the first week of January that “we’re having a very warm WINTER in Maine. It’s breaking all records…”

Now, notice that this statement was uttered scarcely TWO WEEKS into Winter. So according to this guy, 15% of one Winter season is enough to establish “a record warm Winter for Maine.”

Since then of course the weather has turned quite cold in that part of the world. I’ve mentioned this to him a couple of times since, but as you might expect there’s been no response.

Parts of New England are being forecast to have the worst blizzard ever. including downtown Boston, which has only ever recorded actual blizzard conditions once before. Forecast is for 16 hours of blizzard conditions there.

    Algore can change that.

  6. Pathway says:

A lovely 54 F here in the high desert. Almost 15 degrees above average.

  7. annieoakley says:

Everyone in Colorado should know, we will pay and pay for this little January thaw. We will be freezing in June no doubt, to pay for a day in the mid 50’s without 40mph wind.

  8. Psalmon says:

Every bomb low pressure that spins off the East Coast is spinning Northeast right now right into Greenland. Arguably more impact there than in the US and Canada.

  9. Lance says:

Calgary hit +17C today, breaking a record….i’ll take this GW anytime (considering last winter was the 2nd coldest I recorded in 25 years…)

    • Don says:

I have been following the temps in Calgary, Edmonton, and Bismarck, N.D. for the past few weeks. Lucky ‘global warming’ weather for all three. Payback is, however, a b#$@h!

No two winters are alike, especially two in a row. The climate fear mongers are preparing their stories as we blog.
