Perhaps we only got the Readers Digest Condensed Book edition: when Republicans by-pass Congress (or control Congress) anything they do is unconstitutional, but when a Democrat by-passes Congress (or a Democratic-controlled Congress issues edicts) everything is hunky dory!

“Time magazine gushed in 2008 about Barack Obama’s 12-year tenure as a law lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School, saying, “Within a few years, he had become a rock-star professor with hordes of devoted students.”

That may have been true during his first two years, when he ranked first among the law school’s 40 instructors, with students giving him a rating of 9.7 out of a possible 10.

But law student evaluations made available to The Washington Examiner by the university showed that his popularity then fell steadily.

In 1999, only 23 percent of the students said they would repeat Obama’s racism class. He was the third-lowest-ranked lecturer at the law school that year. And in 2003, only a third of the student evaluators recommended his classes.

His classes were small. A spring 1994 class attracted 14 out of a student body of 600; a spring 1996 class drew 13. In 1997, he had the largest class of his tenure with 49 students. But by then, his student rating had fallen to 7.75. Twenty-two of 40 faculty members ranked higher than Obama.

Some former faculty colleagues today describe Obama as disengaged, doing only what was minimally required and almost never participating in faculty activities.”

Yeah, and he won a Nobel Prize on the POTUS honeymoon. Everything is shiny and new til he opens his mouth, and pees on your doorstep.

    What a putz.

“This really comes as no surprise as the stratospheric warming event that I talked about early in January should lead to a much farther south push of Arctic air late in January.”

“President Obama’s public approval rating has dropped to just 37 percent, with 55 percent disapproving of his job performance, according to the first Reuters/Ipsos political tracking poll of the year…

The poll was conducted Jan. 10-14 and included 634 Democrats, 646 Republicans and 230 independents.”

Gee, about the same approval he received from his students.

The pigs gathered the animals of animal farm and said: “We have made mistakes, from now on you can vote for whichever pig you want to run the farm … so we will form the democratic party of pigs and the republican party of pigs … and you animals will all be totally free to chose your own government”.

In other words, all politicians have their snouts in the trough and whoever we vote for, they just put more of our money in that trough.

Ar least you have UKIP which is a wee small piglet instead of a 500 pound hog.

      @ S.S. & Gail

There can never be any real science when it is funded by the governent. Sooner or later the “science” must indicate that more power and money are needed by the government to support whatever imaginary hobgoblin the state is selling at the moment.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. ~ H. L. Mencken

      • Gail Combs says:

Mark, as I have said several times, I want ALL science and ALL universities DEFUNDED. I also want the Federal government out of K-12.

The Federal government needs to butt-out of 95% of what they are doing. Governance by state and local government, the closer to home the better, was the way our system was designed to work and that is what we should have as government.

All the Federal Government should be concerned with is commerce between states and other nations. A military, a National bureau of Standards (part of commerce), treaties and perhaps some roads as part of national defense.

If you cut taxes (combined state local and federal) to a MAXIMUM of 18%, then the economy would grow and people can fund science or universities they like out of their own pocket.

      Gail,
You just described the Classical Liberal agenda from the 17th and 18th centuries. The people who gave the west the industrial revolution and founded this country.

Historian Ralph Raico describes it here: http://mises.org/library/what-classical-liberalism

My last post was on Classical Liberals and their mistake. A short read that can be seen here: https://markstoval.wordpress.com/2015/01/04/the-classic-liberals-and-their-mistake/

Defund? Hell yes, defund as much as possible.

      • Gail Combs says:

        Thanks for the references Mark.

Too bad we can not get the brain dead city voters to understand the concepts of freedom and individual liberty.

Btw, driving people into the city after WWII was done deliberately by one of Milner’s round tables. link

They are still at work driving people off the land. link

Take out the 3 * It seems WordUnimpress will not allow me to post that link without mangling it. Ain’t it nice to know we are protected by Censors. Doesn’t it make you feel all warm and squishy… Like a dirth diaper?

I sure would like to know what his grades were in college. Did he even deserve to get into law school? Based on his present performance, I don’t think he made any of the constitutional law classes offered.
