With them it’s all about the “concern”.

  2. 1957chev says:

The way to think like a progressive? Put your mouth in gear, but leave your brain disengaged…

“There are now elements in the environmental movement who are so worried about the state of the planet that they have lost all sense of proportion. This is alarming for those at the receiving end of their mindless wrath. It does not help to protect the environment either.”

  4. MrX says:

lie and mislead? lol. They’ve really decided that reality = lie.

  5. exmaschine says:

    NotReal-a…what a sap, a statist sap…

  6. omanuel says:

Since 1945 they have assumed that Stalin’s “Great Social Experiment” could not fail. Still today, many are trying to be “stupid like a fox”, totally unaware that the seventy-year era of rule by deception has ended and Big Brother is going down!

    Our challenge now is to:

    1. Retain the benefits of, and
    2. Eliminate the deception in

The Great Social Experiment of 1945-2015

We must not get side-tracked trying to punish those who used public funds to deceive the public for the past seventy years.

I think she was talking to herself in the last tweet

  8. Michael 2 says:

    Pick one:

    1. Society collapses in two weeks OR
    2. Society collapses in 100 years.

    I’ll take door number two!

  9. gofer says:

Does this person seriously consider all of the things that “could” happen in 100 years? She must be a nervous wreck.

  10. SMS says:

Obviously she hasn’t seen the numbers on green energy. We should demand she take herself off the grid and try to survive for a few days without fossil fuels. Or, just to give her a dose of reality, she can pretend all the energy she is using is (no such thing) green and just chip in an additional few hundred percent more in money to offset the extra pretend cost. This, just to get an actual feel off what it would be like to go off the fossil fuel grid.

  11. R. de Haan says:

Clueless people. Low oil prices kill off most green projects right now. Number of pallet heaters in Germany collapsed, oil is cheaper despite the subsidy.

  12. Richard Todd says:

As a low level quality control grunt from western Canada, I would just like to thank Tony and WUWT for providing all the ammo I need to wage war on all my lefty friends. facts and figures seem to anger them.

  13. Sharpshooter says:

Wow! Arguments right out of the Medieval era (count the logical fallacies)!
The cutest thing about “progressives” is how REgressive they are in reality; downright primitive.

    • Jason Calley says:

I usually refer to them as “so-called Progressives” but after reading your comment, I may start calling them “pREgressives”.

The name “Progressive” is actually really good marketing though… just like how the Russian Communists picked “Bolshevik” (which means “Majority”) while they were still a tiny splinter group.

  14. g2-9ed9acc685824c6663c51c5b093476cc says:

Well, there’s “lying” and then there’s “being gullible” enough to believe the lies you’re told.

This person represents the latter instance.

  15. Eliza says:

Again from Australian Caca a country where you cannot do anything thanks to the politically correct left which destroyed that country as a living alternative. LOL

  16. philjourdan says:

Your article is mis-labeled. That is not thinking. Just regurgitating.

  17. Mac says:

I read both posts of Steven Goddard’s back and forths with this obviously debased and unstable woman, and, I must say, her insulting and smarmy Twitter attacks are most illuminating. In two separate posts, she uses the pretend word “anomalities” and then says “whomever you are…” in another post. And these are supposed to be the smart people?

“Global warming” in a nutshell: the religious cult of the malleable and simple automatons.

  18. Chip Bennett says:

I don’t understand: why would society collapse with fossil fuels in 100 years?

Does she mean that we’ll run out of fossil fuels in 100 years? If so, aren’t we back to society collapsing within two weeks without fossil fuels?

American Association for the Advancement of Science???

The global warming HOAX started at a conference in 1975 in the US organized by the anthropologist Margaret Mead, 1974 president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

      The Fabian Connection

Put simply, the Anthropogenic Global Warming scare seems to be the latest ploy of the Fabians to implement their utopia of a world socialist state centred in the United Nations.

So it was with a bit of surprise that I came across Michael Filozof’s article in American Thinker of 11 March, 2009 – Obama and the Triumph of the Fabians. (The connection between the Fabians and Margaret Mead is a little obscure but Mead was a pupil of Franz Boas and apparently accepted his views uncritically according to one account. Boas was prominent in the American Fabians: New School for Social Research.)

At the end of World War Two Churchill was unceremoniously dumped by the British electorate and England embarked on a peaceful conversion to socialism of the Fabian type. (Communism is socialism imposed at the end of a gun, Fabians impose it by stealth and deceit, Social Democracy imposes it by accident and Fascism imposes it by adding a veneer of a market economy that is tightly controlled by regulation).

Where the Global Warming Hoax Was Born

“Global Warming” is, and always was, a policy for genocidal reduction of the world’s population. The preposterous claim that human-produced carbon dioxide will broil the Earth, melt the ice caps, and destroy human life, came out of a 1975 conference in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, organized by the influential anthropologist Margaret Mead, president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), in 1974.

Mead—whose 1928 book on the sex life of South Pacific Islanders was later found to be a fraud—recruited like-minded anti-population hoaxsters to the cause: Sow enough fear of man-caused climate change to force global cutbacks in industrial activity and halt Third World development. Mead’s leading recruits at the 1975 conference were climate-scare artist Stephen Schneider, population-freak biologist George Woodwell, and the current AAAS president John Holdren—all three of them disciples of malthusian fanatic Paul Ehrlich, author of The Population Bomb.[1] Guided by luminaries like these, conference discussion focussed on the absurd choice of either feeding people or “saving the environment.”

Mead began organizing for her conference, “The Atmosphere: Endangered and Endangering,” shortly after she had attended the United Nations Population Conference in Bucharest, Romania, in August 1974. She had already bullied American scientists with her malthusian view that people were imperiling the environment. She wrote in a 1974 Science magazine editorial that the Population Conference had settled this question:

At Bucharest it was affirmed that continuing, unrestricted worldwide population growth can negate any socioeconomic gains and fatally imperil the environment…. The earlier extreme views that social and economic justice alone can somehow offset population increase and that the mere provision of contraception can sufficiently reduce population—were defeated.

The North Carolina conference, which took place Oct. 26-29, 1975, was co-sponsored by two agencies of the U.S. National Institutes of Health: the John E. Fogarty International Center for Advanced Study in the Health Sciences and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. (Mead had been a Scholar in Residence at the Fogarty Center in 1973.)

It was at this government-sponsored conference, 32 years ago, that virtually every scare scenario in today’s climate hoax took root. Scientists were charged with coming up with the “science” to back up the scares, so that definitive action could be taken by policy-makers.

Global cooling—the coming of an ice age—had been in the headlines in the 1970s, but it could not easily be used to sell genocide by getting the citizens of industrial nations to cut back on consumption. Something more drastic and more personal was needed.
