Due to the data tampering which Zeke and Mosher defend, NCDC has concluded that the current winter is one of the warmest ever in the US.
Apparently the freezing point of water has changed, because the Great Lakes have record ice cover for the past 35 years.
Ice cover is more than double normal.
About half of the US is below normal temperature for the year.
Obviously the US is nowhere near record warm, and obviously the NCDC adjustments are incorrect. The US is in an historic deep freeze. The Obama inquisition will come after you if you don’t believe this is record hot.

Yes, emsnews. Some of the toughest skiing conditions one can find is on that hard ass “snow” in the east. We would wax our skies and sharpen their edges every night when skiing down hill on piste at Stow or Smugglers notch. You don’t have to even ski to understand it and observe it. Heck you don’t even have to see it. You can HEAR IT as the edges scrape and chatter when your working through the turns.
Rock climbing is sane. Ice climbing is, uh, different…

I watched the icebreakers at work this weekend on the Detroit River (connects Lake Huron to Lake Erie). I wonder what the snow cover would be without the icebreakers.

The warmists have never gotten it through their thick skulls that glacial inception occurs after a warm spike and you need meandering jets to create the storms that dump huge amounts of snow…
You know like the historic November 2014 storm that dumped more than 7 feet (2.13 m) of snow on buffalo NY. (Buffalo normally gets around 8 feet of snow during an entire winter season.) Or the Greek islands buried under 6½ ft (2 m) of snow in January, or the compacting snow patches (called neve) appearing in the Pyrenees and in Scotland last summer. Even Alaska had snow at lower elevations that did not melt away in the summer as usual.
At this point I think it is fun to watch as a little ice age or glacial inception starts and the ClimAstrologists and there fawning warmists continue to deny reality while comming up with lamer and lamer excuses for why the population should be happy to frees to death in honor of Mother Gaia. They used to toss virgins into volcanos to appease the gods but since they can no longer find any young maidens who are virgins they have to be content with freezing to death thousands of old folks.
Official figures reveal that the death rate related to cold snaps in England and Wales is over 30% higher than normal for this time of year.
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) some 28,800 people died in the fortnight ending January 23.
