Exciting Day

I just got my 1998 4×4 back from the shop. It passed 200,000 miles and needed a new front end.

So I can drive down to DC tonight, pump out lots of life giving CO2, and hear Michael Mann and Katherine Hayhoe lie about skeptic funding, at the “Merchants of Doom” premier.

That is probably one of the few topics they know less about than climate.

Please tell me you are seriously going to attend!

  2. Joseph says:

Are they going to be taking questions?

I really enjoyed reading that piece from at WUWT from John A on how Mann didn’t have a single amicus brief filed by anyone to support him in his own going legal battle with Mark Steyn. I’m just wondering if I’m going to die of old age before they get to the discovery phase.

    • gator69 says:

That was stunning. It is interesting to ponder just what the rest of the ‘consensus’ thinks of Mann.

      • Gail Combs says:

I would hazard a guess that they think he is an arrogant no nothing and wish he would disappear.

        • rah says:

Well the Penn State wasn’t smart enough to dump his ass. But then again Penn State wasn’t smart enough to dump Jerry Sandusky or even fess up to having covered up for him. So I guess it’s to be expected.

        • It would seem like damned if the do and damned if they don’t but they can rely on so much support from the media that keeping Mann is a logical choice.

If Mann’s doing blows up in their faces one day they expect to weather it just like they weathered Climategate, Pachauri or the “Pause”.

        • Gail Combs says:

After his Hokey Stick graced the cover of an IPCC Report they were stuck with him.

SG, rather OT, but have you seen any USHCN data since August?

The Noaa web site says “last undated may 2014” http://cdiac.ornl.gov/ftp/ushcn_v2.5_monthly/

Perhaps they are they still trying to figure out their “adjustments” ?

  6. Robertv says:

Beware that lots of people together in a small closed environment make CO2 levels go up so dress for summer temperatures.

Boston Cream is my favorite! It always has been. Mom would make it for my Birthday in fact. Yea, it’s not really a pie but it’s still my favorite. And I helped my Grandma make apple and cherry pies from scratch. And by “scratch” I mean home made crust and the fillings picked from the trees by our own hands. Mince meat and Pecan come in a close second and third though.

      • Gail Combs says:

Nothing like home made from scratch pie.

        My favorite was Strawberry.

Fresh whole wild strawberries are placed in an already backed pie shell. Make up jello adding the juice of crushed strawberries in place of some of the water. Let set in the frig and top with whip cream.

Just finished fajitas for dinner. Sherry learned from the best how to make it. An old Momacita taught her when we were stationed down at Ft. Sam Houston. And don’t ask me how because she won’t even share that with ME! I don’t know why, but there are a few recipes she has that she shares with no one. I prefer to cook the skirt meat on the grill after Sherry has prepared it, but the weather was not conducive for grilling today.

John Kerry is displaying his ignorance of science once again, trying to strawman climate science as basic and settled.

“Science also tells us that when the water temperature drops below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, it turns to ice. No one disputes that,” he said

    http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/03/12/john-kerry-says-climate-science-is-as-settled-as-gravity/

    Umm, not necessarily John.

Under high pressure (2,000 atmospheres) water will super cool to as low as ?70 °C (?94 °F, 203 K) before freezing.

    It’s complicated John, unlike you.

  8. Andy DC says:

I am you will hear the usual song and dance about evil people like you denying settled science like the tobacco industry and all of your huge funding by the fossil fuel industry. An honest debate about the lack of warming? Absolutely out of the question!

  9. Don’t sell your off-roader. These old gems are fixable virtually forever if the body and frame will hold together. I have a 1980 FJ40, a 1984 CJ7, and a 1994 RRC LWB. All great 96%+ condition cars that are a joy to work on and easy to fix (the Range Rover being a notable but excusable exception since it makes up for the hassle in cool factor and off-road awesomeness).

  10. Marsh says:

I have to say, you have a great deal more tolerance than I have Tony; I would be walking out once their “CO2 warming nonsense” impacts my sense of logic…

  11. omanuel says:

Remember, Steven, you are on the winning side of history.

This one-page “Sequel to Climategate” illustrates the absolute absurdity of the 1945 decision by frightened world leaders to rule the world by deceit.

They have delusions of power and honor in the likes of Michael Mann and Katherine Hayhoe.

  12. tabnumlock says:

It’s very clever of you not to use any of your ill gotten petro-dollars to buy a new truck.

  13. Anything is possible says:

You ought to troll them by turning up in a chauffeur-driven limousine!

  14. annieoakley says:

    Please give them hell!

  15. Disillusioned says:

Tony, I’m looking forward to reading about your experience mingling with the well-compensated Merchants of Confidence and their newest propaganda campaign against truth and people of integrity.

  16. Merchants of Doom would seem to be a more appropriate title for the warming crowd that says we are all going to boil. Skeptics mostly say things are going to be ok. I found this NCEP/NOAA paper that shows computer models predicting global cooling by 2020. Funny that one never sees this model mentioned. See page 2202, the yellow graph. http://www.cpc.noaa.gov/products/people/wd51hd/vddoolpubs/2014_2185-2208_JClimate27_CFSv2.pdf

    • Gail Combs says:

That is because it is a brand new model designed to wipe all the rotten eggs off the face of the ClimAstrologists.

It is so they can say they predicted the current halt in warming and the coming cooling.

Is there a hyperlink to the Michael Mann/Katherine Hayhoe Show?
