Obama says that unfunded skeptics are financed by big oil, while he is the top recipient of big oil cash.
Obama biggest recipient of BP cash – Erika Lovley – POLITICO.com
You might remember that BP is the company which filled the Gulf of Mexico with oil a few years ago.
O’Bama’s dishonest handling of the Gulf oil spill and his treatment of ‘British Petroleum’ indicates that BP had not been paying their dues. Sopranos would blush.

Obama Underwrites Offshore Drilling
Too bad it’s not in U.S. waters.
Updated Aug. 18, 2009 1:45 p.m. ET
You read that headline correctly. Unfortunately, the Obama Administration is financing oil exploration off Brazil.
The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.
The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a “preliminary commitment” letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount. Ex-Im Bank says it has not decided whether the money will come in the form of a direct loan or loan guarantees.

There is a Soros link. Ed Morrissey has a round-up and notes:
Is it a coincidence that Obama backer George Soros repositioned himself in Petrobras to get dividends just a few days before Obama committed $2 billion in loans and guarantees for Petrobras’ offshore operations?

God’s Banksters 13.00 mins.
God does not have a bank, or banksters. Do you know where the term ‘The Real McCoy’ comes from?
I can claim to be or represent anything. Look up ‘lie’ in the dictionary.
I pondered whether or not to reply, Gator, but here goes.
I believe in a creator.
I do not believe in organised religions. None.
In particular, I have come to despise the Roman Catholic religion in which I was raised.
I have come to regard it as a Fascist organisation, dedicated to keeping people fearful & subservient.
I won’t get into the number of wars & deaths the RC church has caused, or the well documented hordes of child abusers it has sheltered, & is sheltering.
Anyone who purports to know the nature of God, I look on as a fraudster, a snake oil salesman.
If my position does not accord with your beliefs, so be it.
We’re all entitled to our own opinions.
I try my best to be a Christian, and fail daily.Being a Christian and following the teachings of Christ has nothing to do with buildings or memberships. My church is wherever I am and my cathedrals are God’s creation. Organized religion is useful to many, and for the most part does more good than any other organization in history, but sadly like any group of fallible humans it becomes political.
Instead of tithing and attending weekly services, I try and help others through direct actions, and give money to those who steward it best.
I think that for the most part we agree.
Indeed, Gator, I think we can shake hands there. Thank you. JD.
Indeed we can. And thank you as well.
Cool. 🙂
It is not limited to Christians either. I call it being a civilized human being.
The Golden Rule [Matthew:7:12: “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them,”] is the template for interactions between civilized human beings. The Golden Rule existed among all the major philosophical schools of Ancient China and other Ancient philosophical schools. (WIKI)
When civilizations start breaking the Golden Rule and the rules derived from it then civilization itself breaks down. ISIS/Islam is an example of that type of breakdown. When the leaders of a country start intentionally breaking these rules it is a sign of a very very sick civilization.
The Golden Rule
I found a book The Golden Rule: The Ethics of Reciprocity in World Religions edited by Jacob Neusner, Bruce D. Chilton
On page two is a real eye opener.
Perhaps Bernard Gert, Jacob Neusner, Bruce D. Chilton should have looked to the Old Testament for a clarification of the Golden Rule.
Leaving out religion you get:
* Honor your father and your mother, [aka wisdom] that your days may be long…
* You shall not kill.
* You shall not commit adultery.
* You shall not steal.
* You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
* You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ass, or anything that is your neighbor’s.
OR if they dislike the use of the Old Testament, an Atheist, Ayn Rand put it this way.
Either way a civilized human does not lie, steal, kill, commit adultery, commit fraud or envy his neighbor.
These ethicists have a problem with HOW civilized humans enforce ethical behavior on the group. Casting Out or Shunning was a typical method. I personally like the Casting Out.
Interesting reply, Gail, as always.
I’m a huge Heinlein fan, by the way. That man had a brain.
Just one small concern: you’re piling too many books on my desk, Teach. 🙂
I read recently that the Brit army is training 1500 keyboard warriors, to help police us. Our Prime Minister, David Camoron has called truthers “non-violent terrorists”
We live in the most interesting times, ever, I believe.
Hey Gail! The original Hebrew for commandment #6 is ??? ????????. It means, “thou salt not murder. Big difference. Killing in self defense or in the defense of innocents is permitted. God would love for his children to live in peace, but even He knows that is not possible on Earth.
Yes but in 2015 it’s Iranian oil. He’ll help Iran break free of sanctions and produce more oil, but not our friends in Canada.
Progressives think Islamists just need jobs and more income to make extremism go away. But the wealthy in Iran are the ones most closely connected to their extremist mullahs — sound familiar over here too??
I see to recall the dim bulbs in the Obama administration denying any containment, recovery or mitigation methods that did meet federal cleanup standards (99.85% removal) and preventing Jindal’s efforts to protect marshes from the oil. So, if you could get 90% or 99% of the oil up, that was a no go and they would leave 100%. Maybe BP should have forked over more, sooner. It looked to me as though the Obama administration was doing its best to make the effects of the spill worse.
It was. There were Dutch Oil Skimmers ready and waiting an d Obummer said HELL NO and went off to play golf.
Speaking of “Big Oil” yahoo has an article about the “reactivation” of fault lines in Oklahoma. Possible cause, (drum roll), FRACKING.
http://news.yahoo.com/reactivated-fault-lines-oklahoma-could-cause-major-quake-200209233.html
Yahoo’s (Reuters) reporting ignores the “injection” quakes that are regularly triggered in Northern California from the “The Geysers” geothermal energy plant.
Obama has never done anything for the oil and gas industry. He has done everything he could to put roadblocks in their way. Obama hates oil and coal. Getting drilling permits on federal lands is much more difficult since Obama took over as president; this left state and private leases as the only recourse for US oil companies to develop. And they responded well by developing this nations oil shale resources using horizontal drilling methods and fracing. The large production of oil from these oil plays has led to a massive increase in daily production that has produced a large drop in the price of oil. This has turned out to be a great boon for the American people and, unfortunately, Obama. He is not adverse to taking credit for the drop in the gasoline price that we pay at the pump, though he made great efforts to prevent it. The Keystone pipeline is another example of Obama’s hate for oil companies. This pipeline would help in transporting oil from North Dakota to the coastal refineries at a lower cost; a decrease that could be passed on to the customer. And what did Obama do? He vetoed the bill. Obama is an idiot.
Agree…but Obama is madly in love with big oil money.
Similar to Obama always talking about transferring wealth from the rich to the poor. Except when he is fund-raising on Billionaire row in San Francisco.
It’s even worse than that!
In the 2008 election cycle the other contributions by oil companies were:
Exxon/Mobil $117,946
Chevron $77,875
Shell $64,661
ConocoPhillips $17,600
Marathon Oil $15,437
Hess Corp. $6,950
Anadarko Petroleum $5,800
etc.
I was working in Grand Isle La. when the oil washed ashore and everyone lost their jobs. In an attempt to stay employed, I renewed my HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) training and headed to Venice, La. I was sadly surprised to find that few cleanup jobs were available, and almost all went to locals. I only saw cleanup workers on one occasion. The morning of President Obama’s visit to Venice (May 2, 2010 I think), a busload of ‘workers’ showed up and donned Tyvek suits. Approximately 10 minutes before the cameras started rolling they began cleaning up, and stopped shortly after the cameras turned off. Then the ‘workers’ got on the bus and left.
