My brand new drive train broke when riding my bicycle over to Whole Foods this morning. So I am in the bike shop now with my new detachable touchpad. It takes about one minute to boot and get connected.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Give hopeless a call. Perhaps she’ll come over on her bike and interview you there. 🙂
Use more hydrocarbons on the chain and derailleurs.
It probably had something to do with crashing on the ice last night. LOL
It’s good you know how to fall. Hardware is easier and cheaper to replace.
I thought I had cracked some ribs at first, but I had three layers of clothes on which minimized the damage.
I know you hate cars, but just listen, we care about you.
I have never fallen off my car.
I fell twice this week getting out of my car. Both times good. I don’t want to jinx it but it’s true the more you fall the better you get at it.
It was cold and incredibly slippery in the aftermath of Tony’s stay in Colorado. He carries a punch that lasts for days after he’s gone.
Maybe you need one of these…

That’s a strange contraption unknown to me. Did you mean to respond to my comment further down?
Getting safely out of a car is a matter of proper technique:

Yep. Good technique. No knickers showing. His tail bone’s alright, too. It’s clear he’s done it before.
I fell over on ice a few years ago and my elbow swell up to the size of a ping pong ball and it took a whole year to get better.
As a kid with while on my paper route, my back tire went out from under me on ice one morning, and I landed on my tailbone. Broke my tail bone. Worst break ever.
It’s embarrassing to say this, but I once got a sock stuck in my derailleur, and tore it clean off.
The derailleur, not the sock. I was not wearing the sock at that time.
Technology can benefit mankind, as it did in this case, or it can be used to enslave mankind, as frightened world leaders tried to do after WWII.
Nuclear energy could have given mankind “powers beyond the dreams of science fiction” – as Nobel Laureate F. W. Aston promised in his Nobel Lecture on 12 Dec 1922, but . . .
it was instead used as an instrument of destruction on 6 Aug 1945 that induced CHAOS and FEAR in world leaders and persuaded them to take totalitarian control of the world.
Don’t you have a wind turbine to back up your drive train ?
Sounds like a kinky website.
Don’t tell his hopeful stalker!

I was cycling along merrily at quite some pace on a straight road when suddenly the mudguard supports came loose and caught on the tire stopping it dead. The front ceased up completely and I went straight over the handlebars.
Absolutely no warning and then suddenly flying through the air!
My 3 speed Raleigh (British Racing Green) was my paper bike, it was solid steel construction, including the wheels, and could handle the weight. At the end of the route I would put it in 3rd and hit my street at full speed. My flight began when the front bearings seized, and my front forks turned s-shaped. When I landed on my back I watched as the bike cartwheeled over me. It was quite a sight, with over-sized saddlebags and an enormous front basket, going end over end in the air.
The same thing happened to me!
As a kid, I was cycling merrily on a straight road when a boy I’d had some words with earlier came cycling in the opposite direction. None of us wanted to yield and we hit each other perfectly, tire on tire.
Absolutely no warning and then suddenly flying through the air!

Do not confuse with bicycle jousting which is a prearranged tournament-style duel:

Tony, I thought your bike was always dependable transportation. Mine once lost its drive-train also and I walked it back to my lab, about 5 miles. My worst accident is one I cannot remember, not the accident itself or the few minutes before it, or even exactly where it happened. I only remember being determined to get back on it when I was already standing beside it and turning the pedals two revolutions. Next thing I remember was trying to get my key out of my pocket standing in front of my laboratory door. My hand hurt. I had a fractured thumb, a broken rib, deeply abraded knees and a left elbow, and abrasions on the top of my left shoulder, my forehead, and a deep thigh bruise that I could still sense a year later. My helmet was retired, perhaps having saved my life. Despite the injuries, I still conducted a project review discussion with a client 30 minutes after getting back to the lab and discussing two other projects with my employees before going home. Biking is great, but not without its problems.
I’m curious as to where you purchased the touchpad? I’m in the market for a new brewery laptop and checked newegg.com and amazon. everything I see in the price range are re-furbished surfaces.
