White House Updates Their E-mail Lies

Yesterday Obama said he didn’t know that Hillary wasn’t using a state.gov E-mail address.

President Barack Obama says it was through news reports that he first learned that Hillary Rodham Clinton used a private, nongovernment email account while serving as his secretary of state.

Today he says he did, but he doesn’t know the difference between state.gov and clintonemail.com

President Obama exchanged emails with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at her private address — @clintonemail.com — but did not know the details of her account or how she would comply with administration policy and federal records law, the White House said today.

“Yes, he was aware of her email address. He traded emails with her,” Obama spokesman Josh Earnest told ABC’s Jonathan Karl. “But he was not aware of her personal email server or that she was using it exclusively for all her business.”

The whole point of state.gov is that it belongs to the state department. This is a much larger security breach than Petraeus.

I don’t know anything about servers. Do they retain info like a hard drive? If so can deleted items be recovered like on a hard drive?

All they have to do is get them from the NSA. Since she was on a .com address I’m sure all her mail is in the NSA.

As head of the agency, Hillary was responsible for ensuring compliance with the FISMA Act of 2002.

Of note in the law is the requirement to maintain an inventory of all assets used for department business, even those run by contractors.

These assets have to be tracked, monitored, and reported on. This is critical for congressional oversight.

She failed to follow the law, period!!

    • Obama was in breach by sending E-mails to that address, and then lying about it.

      • FTOP_T says:

Obama will be in breach based on the content of the correspondence. Hillary is in breach just by admitting the existence of the server. Since all presidential records are maintained, they both are going to be in full damage control.

        • nielszoo says:

They don’t need full damage control. They have the full weight of the news media on their side. It was just an oversight don’t ya know… could have happened to anyone… Bush misspelled things in his email… AlGore™ invented email… and on and on and on. They’ll never be held accountable by the 4th Estate and Congress has been a massive, but not unexpected, disappointment.

        • rah says:

“Obama will be in breach based on the content of the correspondence.” No sir, I do not believe that is correct. Content is one matter but the method of communication via private email between the President who is the chief diplomat and his top appointed diplomat was illegal no matter what the content was. Even if he was talking about his golf game.

I once disagreed with the idea that the press claimed it is “the fourth branch of government” but now I fully agree they are. They are every bit as corrupt as those they claim to be watching and “reporting” on.

      • Streetcred says:

I’m constantly amazed by the ignorance of the POTUS … even his lying is unconvincing. This bloke is the “Leader of the Free World” and he is ignorant of such basic IT. Just when you think he has reached the bottom, he surprises and goes deeper!!

Impeach both of them. Get the two of them out of there before they do any more damage…..

  4. Mike D says:

Thanks for covering the security breach aspect. That’s a straight up glaring issue here, and I really suspect there’s sandbagging for political reasons going on. Like the IRS “destroyed” emails issue, too many people are playing dumb, and I mean on the Republican side. Either they are being intentionally dumb, or they’re worried about this coming back to haunt them for when they’ve sent some classified information through a private email themselves.

In addition to Petreus pleading guilty, a Marine Major was discharged for mishandling classified information after sending one email containing classified information from a Yahoo account.

One scandal after another……..they just keep coming from this corrupt administration. We are being conned left and right. Its outrageous.

President Barack Obama says it was through news reports that he first learned that Hillary Rodham Clinton had been his Secretary of State. He assumed that she was running a 501(c) called Mail for the Clintons and he regularly communicated with her using the battleaxe@clintonmail,com address. He stated that it was easier than talking to her during her regular 3:00am prank phone calls. “I know why Bill’s on the road so much” he opined.

  7. Aphan says:

Hillary Clinton committed a felony for sending, storing and concealing government documents on a private, nongovernmental server. Every document she generated while serving as Secretary of State belongs to the US Government-they are public records- and SHE should have been the one to request copies of them when she left office.

  8. rah says:

I remember when Clinton was labeled with the accurate moniker “Slick Willie” but man Bubba was a rather poor amateur compared to what Obama has gotten away with.

  9. rah says:

You know, I was taught that it was a fundamental characteristic of the law that one is responsible for know it, and if they don’t, and the break the law, it is irrelevant. Lack of knowledge of the law is no excuse. Of course that only applies to us serfs.

  10. jigawatt says:

If Obama completes two terms, then Richard Nixon should get an apology. Watergate would rank pretty low on the list of scandals if it happened now.

    • Doug says:

“I found out about the break in just like everyone else, on the evening news.”
“Oh wait…that’s right, I did know something about it, but didn’t know the details.”

I sure wish Obama had a John Dean on his staff.

    • Streetcred says:

I’m just wondering what it is that the socialist Demokratz have in their dirt files on the RINO’s that makes them so afraid to exercise the Law in the interests of the American people.

I thought he said he never emailed her? He used Pigeons instead

Someone once said that each president makes one nostalgic for the one before him. In other words, the leaders only get worse. While one my dispute that in a rare case, the reason it is so true is that the leader gets ever more power. The presidency is becoming like the caesars of Rome … or Big Brother from 1984. In Orwell’s novel the part it was said: “The Party “seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power.”
