Beckwith Is Back

Paul Beckwith apparently didn’t suffer enough humiliation after his 2013 forecast for an ice-free Arctic, and is back for more.

Today he is claiming that “human warming” is pushing the entire Greenland ice-sheet into the sea.

The Greenland surface mass balance shows a gain of 400 billion tons of ice for the year. almost exactly at the 1990-2013 mean

There is nothing unusual going on in Greenland, or with mindless alarmist hysteria. The ice sheet is bitter cold, just like it always is.

So he waited a whole three years before showing how stupid he is again in a public forum? I don’t believe it!

…and what he linked to is two years old

Your right. That’s what happens sometimes when one has had only 8 1/2 hours sleep in the 36 last hours when I wrote that. Hard trip out to Harrisonburg and then Richmond, VA and back. Got up Sunday at 06:00 and got the call to depart at 18:00 Sunday. Drove through the night the 537 mi to Harrisonburg delivered then drove another 130 mi to the south side of Richmond. Got loaded, took a break and got about 8 1/2 hours sleep during my 10 hour break then drove back arriving at the terminal in Anderson, IN at 08:30 Tuesday morning. So I drove through two nights. Kinda throws one’s Circadian rhythm out wack.

Just in time for the UN’s IPCC gathering in Paris? What a coincidence!

  3. Andy DC says:

The ice only has a month or so left to fall into the sea. Then it’s back to their 10 months of refreezing. These people are beyond pathological.

Dr. Ivar Giaever, a Nobel Prize-Winner for physics in 1973, declared his dissent on man-made global warming claims at a Nobel forum on July 1, 2015.

“I say this to Obama: Excuse me, Mr. President, but you’re wrong. Dead wrong,” Giaever said.

“I think Obama is a clever person, but he gets bad advice. Global warming is all wet,” he added.

Giaever said his climate research was eye opening. “I was horrified by what I found” after researching the issue in 2012, he noted.

“Global warming really has become a new religion. Because you cannot discuss it. It’s not proper. It is like the Catholic Church.”

Giaever accused Nature Magazine of “wanting to cash in on the [climate] fad.”
“My friends said I should not make fun of Nature because then they won’t publish my papers,” he explained

meanwhile.. not far from the soon to be ice-free expanses of Greenland.. 😉

Arctic sea ice climbs to less than 1sd from the 1981-2010 average.

  6. Greenland and Antarctica are supposed to be melting. It’s still the Holocene. When they stop melting it means the Holocene is over and we will be in reeeeeaaaally big trouble.

In the words of the genius Richard Lindzen: “Two miles of ice over your head can be problematic”

    • Gail Combs says:

We saw in 1968/69/70 that even a slight dip to the downside in temperature is a real big problem.

The 1974 CIA report: “A Study of Climatological Research as it Pertains to Intelligence Problems”

      Pg 7
“… Since 1972 the grain crisis has intensified…. Since 1969 the storage of grain has decreased from 600 million metric tons to less than 100 million metric tons – a 30 day supply… many governments have gone to great lengths to hide their agricultural predicaments from other countries as well as from their own people…

      pg 9
The archaeologists and climatotologists document a rather grim history… There is considerable evidence that these empires may not have been undone by barbarian invaders but by climatic change…. has tied several of these declines to specific global cool periods, major and minor, that affected global atmospheric circulation and brought wave upon wave of drought to formerly rich agricultural lands.

Refugees from these collapsing civilizations were often able to migrate to better lands… This would be of little comfort however,… The world is too densely populated and politically divided to accommodate mass migration….

      ……………….

I really don’t think the Elite actually believe in CAGW, I think they see it as a means of getting control of the world population and I think they really really want to drastically reduce the human population.

If you were a long range planner (and they are) and you believed we are looking at the end of the Holocene, wouldn’t you want to curb population and grab as tight a control as possible?

We already know about seed banks to preserve DNA of plants however there is now a lot of Human DNA studies happening and in the USA and UK the government is warehousing DNA (from babies and animals too)
UK: DNA Test for Every Baby

USA: Newborn DNA Banking: The DNA of virtually every newborn in the United States is collected and tested soon after birth.

Arrested in O.C.? A DNA sample could buy freedom
Guilty or not, people arrested can avoid the hassle of court if they give their DNA sample to the district attorney.

This article on DNA testing and Personality has been removed from the internet and can not be found on the wayback machine. Drat it, It was a good article

Now all that is left is this pablum for the masses.

      Behaviour and Personality

Traditionally, scientists and psychologists have studied identical twins who share the same genes to find out if differences in personality and behaviour can be a result of the child’s environment. Scientists have discovered through DNA testing that around half of our personality traits are hard-wired into our genes, though some behavioural characteristics are more elusive – perhaps because scientists first have to work out what these genes are through DNA testing and then establish how they interact….

The Human Genome Project’s main aim, however, is not the use of DNA testing to work out the genes governing behaviour but to focus on the faulty genes responsible for disease. DNA testing reveals there are roughly 25,000 genes which human cells use as templates for the manufacture of proteins, which are in turn used to build and maintain our bodies. Dr Collins stressed to the BBC that no matter what DNA testing reveals about genetic make-up and behaviour, it would be a mistake to forget the role that nurture and the environment play in human personality and behaviour.

      A slightly better version.

      What Is Behavioral Genetics?

Genetics is the study of how traits are passed from parent to child. The information that children get from their parents is contained in chemical packets of information called genes. These genes make up larger units called chromosomes (KRO-mo-somz). Humans have 46 chromosomes; 23 come from the father, and the other 23 come from the mother. The human genome is the term for all the genetic information contained in humans.

Variations in human behavior are seen every day. Often people are kind and thoughtful. Sometimes people behave in ways that are considered antisocial * or hurtful to themselves. Behavioral genetics is a branch of science that tries to find out what role inherited factors play in how people act and what kinds of genes may lead to different patterns of behavior.

Environmental factors also can influence human behavior. Behavioral geneticists work to discover how much of people’s behavior is determined by the genetic information they inherited from their parents and how much is caused by their living conditions, learning choices, and other influences from the world around them……

      • When the Holocene ends and all the Europeans are forced to move back to Africa and the Middle East, and get a tan, everybody will mix into one race, and when the Americans are forced to move to Mexico and Meso America, and learn how to drink the water, everybody will speak Spanglish, except the Caipira of Brazil, who will never change.

Well, I’m not going to complain about the yields in the gardens and from the fruit trees this year. What a fantastic growing season this is turning out to be here in central Indiana. I have a mega head of cabbage in the fridge awaiting my exfiance to do her magic and turn it into Hungarian style stuffed cabbage. The Zucchini are huge. Corn had tassels before the 4th of July. The biggest problem for the farmers is loss from flooding and fighting fungus because it’s been so wet. However this year in Indiana there was a historically high proportion of soybeans planted.

    • Watch out for the carbon. I hear plants are full of carbon.

      • rah says:

I am much more likely to OD on the carbon from all the grilling I do over the summer. In fact I’m taking a break from it today. Wife asked if I wanted to grill dinner tonight and I told her no. So I’m getting ready to go to the store and by the fixings for Chicken Alfredo and a toss salad.

While I’m out I’m also buying the hardware needed to put the lines on the new clothes line posts I put in last week. She has been after me for 15 years to put in a clothesline and now she has custom fabricated posts set in concrete 3′ deep with ornamental castings running between the vertical and horizontal members. Posts were powder coated to match the shutters and trim of the house. So no repainting those things are in my future.

I put the vertical members in leaning out from each other one bubble width on the post level. I know they are going to start leaning in over time. Amazing what a little weight and gravity can do given time.

My holes started filling with water when I got down 30″. That will give you an idea how high our water table is here right now.

Easy way to put those holes in soil is to scrape off the grass with a regular shovel and then use an ice auger, like ice fishermen use to drill a pilot hole. Makes the work with the post hole diggers lots easier and is actually less work than using a hand held power auger. Also a lot safer if your concerned about damaging something that may be underground like septic tank laterals, wiring, and such.

        • Gail Combs says:

My post holes fill when I get down about 6 to 10 inches. That is when I can dig them and the clay is not as hard as a brick. Even the post hole digger on the tractor with me hanging off it to give it added weight won’t dig a hole most summers. The last three summers have been a lot wetter so post hole digging in the summer was still possible.

Goes along with the nice green clover and grass.
