Joe Romm Defending The Prophesies

Joe Romm is very upset that some actual scientists are making predictions which contradict the official prophesies of the global warming death cult/religion.

“The Earth is headed toward an imminent speed-up in global warming”
Wasn’t it imminent 18 years ago?

  2. Eric Simpson says:

    OT:

April 2015 Jeb Bush stated that “The climate is changing, and I’m concerned about that. We need to work with the rest of the world to negotiate a way to reduce carbon emissions.”

This IS HUGE because I had thought Jeb was a skeptic.FALSE FALSE FALSE! Turns he Jeb isn’t, at least not anymore. Spread the word!!!!! Because there are some open borders shills that are actually totally against the climate scam.

And spread the word to Trump, because I think he would no how get hay out of this. Contrast Jeb’s leftist position on climate change with Trump:
“This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING bullshit has got to stop.” -Donald Trump
“The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.” -Donald Trump

Joe needs to attack, his funding depends on it. Loser

  4. omanuel says:

Global cooling now seems much more likely than global warming.

FEAR persuaded world leaders to forbid public knowledge of the fountain of energy Copernicus reported at the center of the solar system in 1543 and FEAR increased when Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed by the same source of energy four hundred years later, in August 1945.

    Poor Joe Romm..

Has he supported any predictions that have actually turned out to be correct ??

  6. Ted says:

Suddenly, every liberal website seems to have their own version of Romm’s point and sputter argument against that sunspot paper. The comments from the warm mongers at those sites are the usual mix of funny and sad. A common thread seems to be that the work of astrophysicists, by definition, can have no bearing on climate science, because they’re not climate scientists. I wonder if that also applies to Jimmy Hansen.

The utter lack of intellectual curiosity is disturbing. This sunspot research is utterly, completely, unrelated to any effect of CO2. Each of those theories could be completely right, or completely wrong, without any bearing on the other. But since a dimming sun would tend to mitigate the effects of their pet theory, it’s a priori false. Anyone genuinely concerned with the health of Mommy Earth would drop to his knees and pray to the Flying Spaghetti Monster that this new prediction is true. I’d expected to see at least a few people claiming that diminishing solar radiation vindicated the CO2 models, as it could explain away the “pause.” Instead, both the “pause” and the sunspot paper are being universally shouted down by the people who call us deniers.

  7. anthonyvioli says:

He is seriously off his head.

Could he actually type that crap and believe it??

  8. gator69 says:

    OMG! What a total nutcase!

Also, right now, we appear to be in the midst of a long-awaited jump in global temperatures. Not only was 2014 the hottest year on record, but 2015 is in the process of blowing that record away.

Long awaited? What is this, the Second Coming of Christ? 😆

He then breaks out the Hockey Stick, and denies the LIA!

    • AndyG55 says:

“a long-awaited jump in ADJUSTED global temperatures”

Waiting for Schmidt and Karl to finish their data FABRICATIONS.

The satellite measurements, on the other hand, continue to show NADA, NOTHING..

      …. flat as a pancake !!

Maybe the lapse rate has changed, or something 😉

Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver. I wonder what Romm has done it for?

    • JPinBalt says:

It is pretty obvious Joe is a propagandist and does not know what he is talking about:
He cites a propagandist newspaper Guardian as scientific evidence like a journal article
“The cooling effect from the drop in solar activity during even a Maunder Minimum is quite modest. Environmental scientist Dana Nuccitelli discussed the literature underscoring that point in a U.K. Guardian post from the summer of 2013, the last time the “Maunder Minimum” issue popped up.”
Then blames “conservative media” – is he joking? Says,
“I know you are shocked, shocked to learn that unreliable climate stories appear in U.K. tabloids, the conservative media, and those who cite them without actually talking to leading climate scientists.”
He does not even understand the issue or mixing things up.
says, “Okay, that wasn’t the startling part. This was: “Predictions from the model suggest that solar activity will fall by 60 per cent during the 2030s to conditions last seen during the ‘mini ice age’ that began in 1645.” … “New simulations show that several large, closely spaced eruptions (and not decreased solar radiation) …”
IPCC discounted variations in sun activity (and earth’s orbit and tilt) since change in irradiation by Kwts per sq. meter were not big enough, there will be no 60% change on solar radiation hitting earth, change in sunspots and magnetic field of sun our shielding earth from cosmic radiation are something different. Yes, cosmic radiation variation does not produce enough heat to amount up by Kwts, but it does hit aerosols and produce or seed clouds which cool things down, same reason volcanoes cool earth nut on other end by more aerosols.
I still want to read Zharkova’s paper from the astronomy annual meeting, anything will be subject to press media forcing and amplification to get a read (global warming, mini ice age). I was more concerned with cite “our predictions showed an accuracy of 97%,” and if that was likely referring to observed sun spot record by telescopes or more robust test by correlation with isotopes like beryllium from ice core samples showing longer record of cosmic radiation hitting earth correlating with 11 year ish flip pole and sun spot cycle.
Joe Romm at thinkprogress.org iand climateprogress s doing what he is paid to do as a writer knowing nothing about science and bending truth or lies he can collect, this is a liberal funded progressive outpost of media propaganda disguised as news when it is really political advertising.
The lower troposphere is really cold in Greece now today while they eat humble pie, and was hot two weeks ago, maybe Joe can spin global warming on lack of economic activity and CO2 on mess in Greece – global warming causes bank closures in Greece.

  10. First of all, the climate scientists are not scientists. There is very little science required to get a degree in environmental studies. All the real scientists I know are aware that global warming is government propaganda and climate science is a fake science, like homeopathy and accupuncture. Sure, there are experts, just like there are doctors of chiropractic, 97% of whom agree you can cure scoliosis by cracking the patient’s back. And all the chiropractor magazines have thousands of peer reviewed articles that agree, and none that give a “lively back and forth” on the topic. That’s because they all make money by it. The problem is, you can’t cure scoliosis by cracking somebody’s back, but there is too much money at stake to let the truth be known. And all the climate scientists are cranks the same way and they make billions of dollars by churning out bogus peer reviewed papers (they review each others papers). If you were a real scientist you’d know that science is based on EXPERIMENT and REPEATABILITY. Show me one experiment about climate, and show me one who repeated it. It’s never been done, so there is no science here. Peer review means nothing if the experiment is not repeatable, and there is no science without experiment.

    • Ted says:

Come on, be fair to the chiropractors. They may be frauds, but they’re not TRYING to break your back in order to help the pain in your knee. (they might end up breaking your back, but it’s not their intent) And the pain they pretend to treat is usually real pain. The warm mongers, on the other hand, are explicitly trying to destroy economies, and democracy itself, in order to treat a problem that doesn’t even exist.

A more fair comparison would be to a mafia Don. He makes you pay him for protection from the damage he threatens to cause, if you don’t.
On second thought, that isn’t fair either. The mafia doesn’t want to destroy your business. They only want a cut. Maybe there just isn’t a fair comparison to make.

    • omanuel says:

Climate scientists are as well trained a winners of the Nobel and Crafoord Prizes who brought us these consensus models: AGW, SSM, SNM, BBC for
      1. Anthropogenic Global Warming
      2. Standard Solar Model
      3. Standard Nuclear Model
      4. Big Bang Cosmology Model

    • spren says:

Your generalizations are something else. You dismiss acupuncture as a false science, but I am living proof that it is you that is false. I had a very weird situation where I had pain emanating from my right arm down to my wrist. It was excruciating and despite all the tests of conventional medicine, including an MRI and nerve response tests, they could find nothing. My doctor told me I had stretched a nerve and only time could resolve it.

As a last resort I went to an acupuncturist to seek his help. He told me he thought he could help me but it would take six treatments to produce results. True to his word, after six treatments the situation dramatically changed and my condition went away.

You don’t have a clue what you are talking about. But I have seen that in many of your posts.

    • Dave G says:

Acupuncture is not a fake science. and neither is some homeopathy. Like everything you have to apply it properly and correctly and it works better with other disciplines. Eastern Medicine is 1000 times better than what goes for medicine here in the states. Passing out drugs like candy.

      • spren says:

I was unduly harsh to Morgan in my reply but it was due to my experience with acupuncture was unbelievable, especially when considering that conventional medicine had no answer for what my condition was. My wife also suffered from intense migraines and she also could not find any assistance from conventional medicine. She complained and complained, and I told her that if she wouldn’t try acupuncture I didn’t want to hear her complaints anymore. She went and had the treatments, and her migraines almost completely went away, and the few she experienced were much milder and shorter in duration.

I think the specialist you choose is the most important thing. I found a Chinese practitioner who was also an MD. He was incredible. I have gone to two other practitioners who were not of his caliber. But I don’t care what anyone says. My own experience stands in contradiction to what the detractors say.

  11. Andy DC says:

In the northeast suburbs of Washington, DC, my maximum temperature is averaging 8 degrees cooler than the “official” reading at National Airport. I have heard other reports averaging 5 degrees cooler than National that are well south of DC. There is definitely a hockey stick, a hockey stick of fraudulent temperature adjustments!

    • gator69 says:

On my iPhone, the towns on either side of me are reporting 97F right now. I just walked out and checked my thermometer, and it reads 90F. This is typical for my non-UHI corrupted property versus the “official” temperatures.
