US Midwest Having Its Coldest Three Years On Record

The last three years in the US midwest have had the lowest average temperature on record. This has been accompanied by record amounts of ice on the Great Lakes. Experts say the record cold is due to an overheated atmosphere.

Someone just told me that the eastern UP of Michigan had a light frost this morning.

  2. omanuel says:

We are having unusually cool weather and lots of rain here in Missouri. I only learned today that four years ago, in 2011, a group solar physicists started working to revise the historical record of sunspots:

I hope this is not another attempt to obscure the Sun’s influence on Earth’s climate.

    • Gail Combs says:

L.S., often seen on WUWT is busy with solar history revisionism. He has been trying to squash the solar record flat for years.

Even Bob Tisdale used the ‘revised’ L. S. solar history as far back as 2007

      • omanuel says:

Thanks, Gail. I was pretty naive to overlook that the sunspot record would have to be changed to comply with UN’s Agenda 21.

Total detachment would probably be required to appreciate this re-enactment of the classic battle between truth and untruth.

    • Gail Combs says:

So the Revisionists diddled with the ice core and historic CO2 measurements to get rid of pre-industrial ice core measurements from whole crushed ice that indicated that CO2 concentrations of up to 2450 ppm and wet chemistry historic measurements of values up to 550 ppm. link

The Revisionists diddled with the temperature record to lower the past temperatures and increase the present temperatures as Tony Heller, E.M. Smith, Verity Jones, Frank Lanser, Jo Nova and many many others have shown.

And L.S. and his buddies have diddled with the solar record to squash it flat. He even says there the 200 year De Vries solar cycle that Dr Joan Feynman et al found in the ancient Nile river records does not exist. NASA Finds Sun-Climate Connection in Old Nile Records

Seems the Revisionists know darn well IT’S THE SUN STUPID! and are doing their darnest to hide the fact under all their Revisionism.

A History of Solar Activity over Millennia. Does a nice job of refuting the solar revisionists.

      • emsnews says:

My dad, Dr. Aden Meinel, was one of the world’s top solar scientists (as was my grandfather, too, working with Hubble) and he was pushed aside years ago just before he died, when he said the sun is a variable star and it will be increasingly switching between hotter and colder (thus, the Ice Ages now).

Many a great solar scientist has been defamed by the warmists. I hate them for this.

        • Gail Combs says:

I hate them for completely trashing the good name of science and not only in ClimAstrology. The rot has infected many different areas of science.

      • Bob Weber says:

I’ve been just as concerned about the revisions as you and Oliver, after reading his papers and comments where he said there was no modern maximum in solar activity.

That was after declaring no GRAND maximum happened, so maybe the goalposts are moving again…it certainly looks like the fulfillment of an ‘agenda’, but then again, see it this way and it might help:

I downloaded and analyzed the v2.0 SSNs on July 1, the day they were revealed. Using yearly data, I define the modern maximum in solar activity, and you’re the first to hear it.

The Sun was 65% more active in terms of sunspot numbers for 70 years from 1935.5 to 2004.5, when the yearly average SSN was 108.5, compared to the previous 70 years from 1865.5 to 1935.5, when the annual SSN averaged 65.8.

Using v1.0 annual numbers, the time period changed to 68 years, and the percentage difference in annual SSNs between the two equal time periods was 89%.

The annual mean SSN for 1749-2015 from v1.0 was 52, and from v2.0 it was 83.

Leif Svalgaard & Co DID NOT eliminate the modern maximum in solar activity.

A 65% higher 70 year SS period means a lot more photons were emitted, ie more energy.

Cool enough here in Central Indiana. High here today was 68 deg. F and the normal is 85 deg. F. Thursdays forecast is for a high of 71 and the normal is 85. Won’t break 80 until Saturday. Rain in the forecast every day until Sunday. Been cooler than normal most of the time late spring into the summer. Normally by now the yard has brown spots in it. This year it’s like a perpetual late spring and the grass and everything else is green and growing like crazy. Personally I like the cool but wish we could have a little less rain.

    • emsnews says:

Rain and or fog or both nearly every day here in the NE. Weeds growing high as an elephant’s eye here.

      • rah says:

Last Saturday I finally got around to taking out the weeds that have grown up around where I keep my extra trash cans behind my old shed. Had several thistle plants that high with stalks about 1″ diameter. Just put on some gloves and yanked them out of the ground. Now if the weather would dry out and the wind quit blowing I could spray that place and a few others and be done with the weeds that grow in out of the way places for the summer.

However as I write this a south wind is actually howling through the trees and the 4′ x 6′ stars & stripes at the top of my 30′ pole is stretched out. Looks like the worst of the front will finally pass in the next hour and we’ll start to dry out so maybe I can get to spraying tomorrow.

  5. Jon says:

Looks like local cold is caussd by weather and global heat by climate HAHAHA

  6. jerry j says:

Last two winters here in NorthWest Arkansas have been very cold; wayyy below normal temps. Last winter we had several bouts of temps going well below zero … I am particularly keen on weather this cold because I have an off-grid solar battery bank that could freeze. I was worried all winter!!!!!

  7. jerry j says:

And one more thing … how in heck can it be cold down here because it’s hot up there? (talking about the atmosphere) Geoengineeringwatch.org’s Dane Wigington is a purveyor of that line of reasoning.

The truth is that of course it’s hotter up there … heat is being reflected back into space by CLOUDS which have formed because of increased cosmic rays reaching our planet due to lack of solar activity … chemtrails are actually a source of pollution (the Koch brothers have to dump their coal fired power plant waste somewhere), but the notion that man can negate or surpass the effects of the natural universe is ludicrous.

  8. Andy DC says:

Why would the US Midwest be spared global warming? After all, those states are still dominated by evil white males in pickup trucks who don’t give two hoots about our planet.

    • spren says:

And don’t those pickup trucks also have gun racks and Bibles in them? How can they be spared!

      • Gail Combs says:

Don’t forget the US and Rebel flags!

Actually I saw a couple guys with a pick up with both flags at the shopping plaza protesting Obummer’s latest in trying to generate more ill will between blacks and whites.

Did my heart good to see another pick-up stop, a black dude get out and shake the hands of the white guys. Obummer forgets that some of the Johnny Rebs are black….

    • AndyG55 says:

Isn’t Kaulifornia the main state experiencing really hot and dry weather..

Maybe someone is trying to tell them they need to wake the **** up and get off their anti-CO2 binge.

  9. Bob Weber says:

It’s been a noticeably cool summer here on the 45th parallel in Michigan with cool nights and mornings, and without direct sunshine, cool in the afternoons too. We’ve had the fireplace going as late as the third week in June.

Every day I check national temps and see that most of the country is quite cool in the morning, even in places where daily high temps end in the 80-90-100F range in southern and coastal states. This morning there were only two places registering in the 80’s in the US.

According to my solar flux model, we will experience a downturn in SSTs when solar flux (F10.7) attains a consistent level below 120 sfu/day on a monthly basis, and since the SWPC predicts that’ll happen as soon as this month to as late as Dec this year, all we have to do is wait out this El Nino and it’s all over, going down from there until SC 25 max. Even then at possibly at 66% the strength of this current SC24, we won’t warm much from that, and it’s even further downhill from there to SC26 max, sometime into the late 2030’s.

Which reminds me – I’ve still gotta put away 10 more cord of firewood…
