War Makes For Strange Bedfellows

I just voted for the five Boulder City Council candidates who promised to replace Boulder’s very clean natural gas power plant with worthless, environmentally destructive windmills.

Why did I do this?  Because they are also the only candidates pledged to protect the South Boulder Wetlands from the City and University of Colorado. That is where I do my wildlife photography.

Adults have to be able to make choices. And I doubt the power plan will ever actually happen. This choice was a no-brainer for me. Not perfect, but good enough.

Did they plan to protect it so they would have some place to build all the windmills? I would not trust a word any of them says.

My Dad used to love Shakespeare and often quoted from his plays. One such quote was from the Tempest: “misery acquaints a man with strange bedfellows. I will here shroud till the dregs of the storm be past.”
Good luck in your quest Tony.

Birds plus Bird cuisinarts. Devil/Deep blue sea. Rock, meet hard place. Democracy is a sausage factory.

Hopefully something deplorable will scotch the tax breaks and that will be the end of windmills or you’ll have to Photoshop the War of the Worlds machines out of your shots. Sigh.

  4. Kris Johanson says:

As soon as voters see the bond measure, they’ll vote “no”.
Or, if it’s a private developer they’ll vote it down once they see the proposed rates.
Or, the private developers will just simply go away once they realize how long they will be tied up in court due to environmental issues

I hope to awake tomorrow morning to the news that Boulder voters have said “NO” to continuing the eco-fascist construct of socializing the electric power system in order to “Save The Planet!!” [tm]

I will probably be disappointed. But leftist fools will do what leftist fools will do. May they live long enough to suffer the consequences of their choices.

Fortunately, I moved out of the Peoples’ Republic of Boulder last year, so I am not affected by such moonbat-tery.

But I have not lost my sense of humor [heh-heh]

Pragmatism at it best. The enemies of my enemies are my friends (at least for now).

    A good vote as

The same strategies that are used to protect Boulder can then be used
    to keep the windmills away.

(btw- is it possible to place some huge(2-3* the size of the standard)bird of prey dummies around a windmill to keep birds away from there,
just like people put bird silhouette stickers on huge windows to keep them away from crashing?)

  8. Joel O'Bryan says:

Sort of like my vote a year ago for Donald Trump. Not perfect, but at least it wasn’t Crooked Hillary and her criminal syndicate standing ready to turn the US into a complete banana republic.

  9. Bruce of Newcastle says:

Catch 22: If they build wind turbines they’ll mash the birds, but if the developers build over the wetlands there won’t be any birds since they’ll starve to death.

    Wicked choice.

I had something similar happen when a marshy patch of grassland near my house was built over last year. This picture is the result. :D
