Where’s the guy who pulled out the plug and ran off with it?

Looking at the mud flats in the picture, all I can think of is the smell.

And the culprit for both higher flood tide and lower ebb tide is the same, dredging to allow a bigger flood of tourists into the port in larger cruise ships. The deeper water channels at the inlets increase the inflows and outflows with the tides, ironically, creating conditions where tourist can’t or won’t want to visit. Barrier systems are being installed to restrict tidal flows but it’s still not ready even though it was started 40 years ago after destructive floods in the1970’s.

This does not look like the shots of Venice on 60 Minutes Sunday night. They showed tourists walking on flooded raised platforms in calf-high boots. There was an incessant drum beat of how this was all due to climate change. I switched the channel. I turned back later to watch the much more positive story about Nadal.

  6. CO2 and Global Warming dried up the channels!
