“Meteorologist John Burchfield breaks down the science”

The frequency of hot days has plummeted in Ohio, but meteorologist John Burchfield claims the exact opposite and blames it on “climate change.”

“climate change is making warm weather more common and intense. Days in the 90s have grown much more common on average. The graph below compares the frequency of 90-degree days between 1970 and 2021.”

I wonder if John Burchfield is an extremist creationist. He thinks the world began in 1970. Everything before that is a myth. Maybe we have a new word for his type of science. Call it “contrivance”.

    • Disillusioned says:

I was just about to write, “I wonder why John Burchfield started his graph at 1970.” And I saw your post. You beat me to it.

And yes, like all climate catastrophists, Burchfield is guilty as sin – of using a contrived date for the purpose of deception. Picked cherries.

    • dm says:

      Contrivance = climate alarmism. BRILLIANT:-)

    • arn says:

But there is at least a system/methodology the Mafia follows

If you work for the ministry of climate and talk
      a) arctic
      the starting date is 1979
      (ignoring the 15 years Nimbus data since 1964 ;
and keep in mind that tgey pretend to have detailed global oceanic temperature data since 1886 🙂

      b) burned acreage
      the starting data is 1981
      ignoring 100 years of data

      c) in this case it is 1970/71

as there is no better starting point to ” proof ” than the unusually cold weather they abused to push the ice age scare.

‘climate change is making warm weather more common and intense’

What a maroon. ‘Climate change’ is a RESULT (IF it were actually happening); it CANNOT be a cause. The climate cult is teleological.

  3. Bob G says:

I live near St Cloud Minnesota. our temperature records go back to 1881. our warmest year ever was 1931. our hottest summer ever was 1933. but apparently those records don’t count because they happened before 1970. here is my local report on the ongoing “climate crisis”. this summer we’ve had above average rainfall, a lot of warm days but very few hot days and very few cool days and the corn crop has never looked better. my summary… we might have a record corn crop right in the middle of a “climate crisis”. how does that happen?

  4. Francis Barnett says:

I just ran the temperatures for those days, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on Ventusky.com

    https://www.ventusky.com/?p=41.6;-83.5;5&l=temperature-2m&t=20230602/0000

    Tuesday’s peak was 82 F, Wednesday was 81 F and Thursday was 84 F
So this man is a liar, there is no gentler way to describe him.
    I rest my case.

  5. Jack the Insider says:

Same deception being reported by Leftard Media on the health of the Great Barrier Reef. But the facts are ….

Massive increases in coral across the Australian Great Barrier Reef (GBR) have been reported for 2023-24 making it the third record year in a row of heavy growth. Across almost all parts of the 1,500 mile long reef, from the warmer northern waters to the cooler conditions in the south, coral is now at its highest level since detailed observations began.

The inconvenient news has been ignored in mainstream media which, curiously, have focused on a non-story in Nature that claimed “climate change” poses an “existential threat” to the GBR. “The science tells us that the GBR is in danger – and we should be guided by the science,” Professor Helen McGregor from the University of Wollongong told Victoria Gill of BBC News. The existential threat is “now realised” reported the Guardian.

    • conrad ziefle says:

Coral has been here, God knows how long, probably since the days when Earth had 7500 ppm CO2 in the atmosphere. You can find fossilized coral in mountains which once were at sea level. So anyone who can draw a rational conclusion would have to think that coral has survived a huge range of CO2 concentrations and will still be doing fine after humans have become extinct.

      • Charles Higley says:

I used to live in Coralville, Iowa, which was in the middle of a large central N. America shallow sea.

      • Tel says:

The Great Barrier Reef is several million years old. It’s been through many warm and cold cycles, and has been living and growing the whole time.

        That’s just one reef.

    • Disillusioned says:

The various Cabal actors have been honing AGW fear porn for a very long time. SCUBA diving instructors were being trained in climate change propaganda well before James Hansen and Senator Timothy Wirth staged the global warming press conference in D.C. in June, 1988. I know this because two years earlier, when I was in SCUBA training in 1986, we were being warned about bleached corals – caused by rising temperatures and “ocean acidification.” The instructors told me that experts said the corals in the ocean were dying – and it is all man’s fault. I will never forget that.

So, after several decades of fearmongering the dying corals, the fact that presstitutes in the MSM now will not report on 3 years record growth of GBR coral – that is a really Big Tell.

      • arn says:

I think it was Peter Ridd, who got fired 6 years ago for not going along with the Coral Reef BS(a species that came into exitence when co2 was 15* higher and temperatures 10 degrees and survived for 500 mio years but suddenly became warmo and co2 – phob in July 12th 1983) ,
        who said something like
“We never had any problems with Coral Reefs until we started researching them”.
Before there were founds they did what they did their bleaching and recovering -a cyclical thing , just as the climate.

But since they got away with Ozone hole BS which they successfully blamed on mankind(Ozone holes are still as they were before CFC ban),
they think they can get away with blaming mankind for all things that have been going on for hundreds of millions of years.

While in terms of Ozone holes the “experts” only had a few years of satellite data – since the end of the 60ies,
to come to the only permitted conclusion = man made
(strange btw that they have satellite data for polar Ozone layer since 1969 but from the arctics below only ) ,
they simply ignored the fact that visual evidence about bleached Corals literally exist since the very first day they started taking “photos” from reefs – in this a lithography from 1862.

And according to Peter Ridd the first proper aerial surveys were not carried out until 1998.

Which means that Coral Reef problems exist for the same reason the Ozone Holes and warming do = lack of longterm data.

  6. ‘The science’ differs from mere ‘science’ by starting with the conclusions and working back to the data, ignoring or ‘adjusting’ anything which doesn’t support the desired answer.

  7. Russell Cook says:

If only I had unlimited time to research the quantities/examples of specific hypocrisy angles coming from the Clima-Change™ pushers — seems like it wasn’t all that long ago, when guys like Anthony Watts and Joe Bastardi were particularly getting under the Al Gore mob’s skin, that one of talking points from the mob was “meteorologists ARE NOT climatologists, they don’t publish papers in peer reviewed journals, so DON’T listen to what they say!” Then somewhere along the line, somebody in the mob got the idea that if they could get left-leaning meteorologists to equate weather events to runaway CAGW, that would be a great way to get the propaganda out.

  8. Gamecock says:

The Left has no integrity? I’M SHOCKED!

Once you demonize the opposition, ANYTHING against them is allowed. Yes, even murder. Given the chance, they will kill you. Their only problem with Crooks is that he missed.

    • arn says:

      Crooks worked for the Crooks.
And they knew about him so well , that he they did not wanted to see him for 60 minutes but killed him then within seconds(it was obvious that he was not allowed to survive.)

      • Gamecock says:

        Like Lee Harvey Oswald.

        • arn says:

The dude who went to cinema after killing the president 🙂

I can only imagine how surprised Oswald was when he heard in the Radio that he killed Kennedy (with one of the worst rifles in history ,so bad that soldiers called it the gun that only hits enemies when you dont aim at them and gun experts used to joke that Kennedy was probably the only one who got killed by it)
He was even more surprised to be killed by a terminally ill man who spent the rest of his short life trying to convince evryone that he was a lonely gunman and that there was no conspiracy ( he’d have been such a good climate scientist).
