I’m sure it was a solar-powered snow cat.
I was travelling in that area on vacation from the U.K. last week and it had been forecast for days that heavy snow was on the way in the Big Bear Lake area on 12/13 March. I cancelled my hotel in Big Bear Lake as I didn’t have snow tyres or chains on my rental car. Stayed in Palm Springs instead. Perhaps they should pay attention to local forecasts, it ain’t rocket science after all.
