Record Heatwave In Missouri

In 1936, Clinton, Missouri USHCN RAW high temperatures averaged 105 degrees in both July and August. This July, Clinton is averaging 92 for a high – thirteen degrees cooler than 1936.

However, history began around 1975 so this is the hottest summer ever. Plus we have heat index and real feel temperatures now. We should also adjust temperatures upwards by 0.3 per month, to account for Trenberth’s missing heat.

    The 1936 heat was dry heat, so 105 only felt like 92. This year’s wet heat of 92 feels like 105. So this year’s heat is obviously much, much worse.

    But you have not added in the Global Isostatic Adjustment to account for the lowering of the land surface because of heaver air. Al that extra CO2 must make the air heaver so temperatures will need a GIA to account for that. The heaver air is depressing the measuring equipment and giving cooler temperature readings.
