Funny they always write articles like this in July. You don’t see so many when its 10 below zero in February.

Well, I know for a fact that my location has not warmed. Could those 7500 locations be cities that are experiencing infrastructure and accompanying heat build up? Yes they could.
Primarily airports that have expanded since 1970.
In February 1.5 degrees warmer would be a welcome change. The thing is that the additional warmth was probably in the winter rather than the summer. I lived through both periods and the only difference I recall was the reported temperatures and not the living conditions. Of course that happens when you are talking about a whopping 1.5 F or C.
We are having a fairly respectable mid-summer heatwave. As if that never happened before. Weather suddenly becomes climate whenever it serves the alarmist agenda.
Even better weather in a few cities becomes Global Climate when appropriate!
It’s not that bad to me in DC, not like it was in 1986, 1987 from what I recall.
I used to like the hot weather. Gave me the opportunity to perspire a lot while jogging.
Now I hate hot weather anywhere and I dread summer because of all the squealing from losers for the Government to do something “about the weather.”
And about the normals in 1940 or 1950 ?

The US rate of cooling for the 10 year period from 1970-1980 was -.07F degrees/decade while the last 10 years from July 2001-present is -1.3F degrees/decade. I guess this is a case of “Heidi-ng the decline”.

My recollection was in the 1950’s the normal January high temp in DC was 36.5. By the 1980’s it was down to 34.9. So the catastrophic 1.5 degree increase in temperature is in all likelihood just a return to pre-1960 normals.
