  1. Blade says:

This is pretty much one our worst decades.

These heat waves, World War I, Spanish Flu, Woodrow Wilson. Our relatives that survived it had good reasons to party in the roaring 20’s.

Memo to self: skip 1910-1919 on the DeLorean time machine.

  2. gator69 says:

Thank God Wilson did not have the AGW scam to work with. We would all be in forced labor camps by now.

    • Blade says:

Yeah, that’s for sure. If I remember correctly, we actually got lucky because his hands were full with post-war plans (League, etc …) and the Flu had run its horrific course, but then his stroke came along after this in 1919 which capped whatever else he could have done.

Not many people remember what Wilson actually did do though, in the Sedition realm, (from wikipedia) …

“To counter opposition to the war at home, Wilson pushed the Espionage Act of 1917 and the Sedition Act of 1918 through Congress to suppress anti-British, pro-German, or anti-war opinions.[90] While he welcomed socialists who supported the war, he pushed at the same time to arrest and deport foreign-born radicals.[93] Citing the Espionage Act, the U.S. Post Office, following the instructions of the Justice Department, refused to carry any written materials that could be deemed critical of the U. S. war effort.[93] Some sixty newspapers judged to have revolutionary or antiwar content were deprived of their second-class mailing rights and effectively banned from the U.S. mails.[94][93] Mere criticism of the Wilson administration and its war policy became grounds for arrest and imprisonment.[93] A Jewish immigrant from Germany, Robert Goldstein, was sentenced to ten years in prison for producing The Spirit of ’76, a film that portrayed the British, now an ally, in an unfavorable light.[95]”

Our leftist malcontents today really don’t realize how good they have it here, imagine if Nixon or Reagan or Bush 43 were really like Woodrow Wilson! Talk about a target rich environment.

I still think the Washington Compost and New York Slimes should be shut down regardless. They are actual enemies and shutting them down would actually strengthen the first Amendment in the same way executing a shooting massacre murderer strengthens the second Amendment.

      Good riddance to them.
