Fascinating. You live in Colorado with record snow pack and scour the Internet to find things to worry about.

Snow cover in April and May is confined to a relatively small area. During the winter, when snow is more important and widespread, snow cover has been greater than average the last several winters and penetrated further south. Arkansas Public Schools last winter had over 2 weeks of snow days.
That NOAA graph concerns area, not mass.
