Apparently the definition of scientist is someone who makes stuff up and pretends that they know what they are talking about.
Scientists recently found ocean warming is worse than atmospheric warming, as it will melt down polar ice sheets faster than previously thought, and raise the sea level more than previous forecast, according to a new study from the University of Arizona (UA).
The study said layers of subsurface ocean surrounding the polar ice sheets will warm substantially. Scientists said the ocean layer about 200 to 500 meters below the surface would warm around 1 centi-degree on average, by 2100. Layer along the Greenland coast would warm about 2 centi-degrees, while layer along Antarctica would warm only 0.5 centi-degrees.
“No one has noticed this discrepancy before — that the subsurface oceans surrounding Greenland and Antarctica warm very differently,” Yin said.
The Gulf Stream carries warm subtropical waters towards north, while the Antarctic Circumpolar Current blocks some of the subtropical warmth from getting into the Antarctic’s coastal waters, so this discrepancy appears.
The study said the warming ocean will raise the sea level by 1 meter by 2100 and much more in the coming centuries
Swan song of the early 21st century grantologist.
Wouldn’t that be 0.01°C? It’s hard to be wrong when you’re language is unclear and your degree of change is expressed an order of magnitude below the possible resolution.
That it what it says. One Centi-degree. 0.01º .
The precision is breathtaking.
