    This was back in the days when Communists were up-front Stalin-Lenin types, not squishy green neoCommunists claiming to save the planet. Same philosophy and tactics, mind you.

    1 Februari 1953 a flood not only ravaged the coastal defenses of the UK and the Netherlands but also the Flanders (Belgium, the North of Germany and Denmark. Germany had a similar flood event in 1962 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Sea_flood_of_1962
    Interesting enough both floods happened in the winter period.
