the Met Office’s decadal forecast predicts renewed warming after 2010 with about half of the years to 2015 likely to be warmer globally than the current warmest year on record.
They crashed and burned in 2009 with the forecast of a ‘barbecue summer’ for the UK.

In fact, they’ve continually embarassed themselves ever since they ‘got religion’.
At the time I thought the Met office were going by their best guess on what solar activity will do for temperatures during solar cycle 24, the consensus they had at the time was that solar cycle 24 would be a super-cycle. They got it very wrong.
If only the Met Office had more money for their SuperDuperComputer they’ve been begging for. Then their outrageous predictions would occur quicker. 😆

Daily and slightly longer forecasts have significantly improved. It’s great when you can quickly test your predictions.
