But look at all those red colours in the Arctic. It’s melting up there!
Never thought I would favor living in a blue state…
I emailed Walt at NSIDC about this earlier this week as the false prophets of the BBC had explained all the cold weather in the UK on
THE JETSTREAM
and
THE JESTREAM
has suddenly become a poster child for any brainy person having to appear on TV just to explain it
Really it is the Arctic Oscillation of course.

Finally getting more positive and so less cold air pushed down to Europe and Canada whilst the Arctic basin stays warm.
As something topical, here is somethintg from dear old Maggie,

Cracking lady, interesting thoughts on AGW.
RIP
Andy
The idea of warmer is relative. The red in the Arctic means above average but still FAR from melting. When cold air pours south, being dense and propelled toward the equator, it must be replaced by less dense, thus warmer air, which then starts to cool getting ready to be the next bolus of cold air to move south. These idiots think that if a reddish area is seen one day that it will be there for months or forever.
