NCDC has no thermometers in most of Africa, and nearly half of the rest of the land surface, so they fabricate fake land temperatures based on sea surface temperatures more than 1,000 km away

To show how fraudulent this practice is, let’s look at the US where they do have surface data. The Atlantic was warm, while the US and Canada were very cold last year. You can not extrapolate temperatures across land/ocean boundaries.

What they are doing is equivalent to measuring Death Valley temperature, based on the temperature of the cold water offshore in the Pacific.

But it gets worse – after making up these completely fake temperatures across vast swaths of the planet, they report a global temperature record of 0.02 degrees. This is scientific malfeasance – pure and simple.

if we do not act forcefully, we’ll continue to see rising oceans, longer, hotter heat waves, dangerous droughts and floods, and massive disruptions that can trigger greater migration, conflict, and hunger around the globe. The Pentagon says that climate change poses immediate risks to our national security.

This is almost identical to what the CIA said about global cooling in 1974.

Oceans have been rising for 20,000 years. King Canute also thought he could stop the rise of the seas.

According to the EPA, heat waves in the US peaked in the 1930’s and have been declining ever since.

Floods and droughts show no trend. Worst droughts were in the 1930s.

“They’re going to try to drag their feet as long as possible, but there are certain things out there that could bring the predominant GOP position to light,” GOP strategist Ford O’Connell told the Examiner. “They want to at least have a unified position and they want to be able to have their ducks in a row. And if they have a solution, they want to have one that has the least impact on the economy.”

For months, The Daily Caller News Foundation has heard murmurs from sources of a potential GOP response to President Obama’s global warming agenda to help protect vulnerable moderate Republicans in future elections. There is no clear GOP climate plan yet, reports the Examiner, but a rough outline of what Republicans want is under the mantra that “tactics to reduce emissions should not harm the economy.”

So after all but one of Tom Steyer’s candidates got crushed in November, Republicans are convinced that Steyer has a winning issue. They also believe that the 2013 shutdown hurt them.
