The official Obama propaganda outlets use imagery like this to describe the “record heat” of 2014

Satellites show that last year wasn’t anywhere near a record year globally, but one country which did record its warmest average temperature was France.

However, it wasn’t hot in France last year. Summer maximum temperatures were just about average. The “heat” was actually mild temperatures in other seasons.

France had very few hot days last year.

Record daily temperatures in France peaked in the 1950’s, and there have been very few since the 2003 heatwave.

During the heatwave of 1947, Paris set its all-time record of 104.7 degrees. (Wikipedia incorrectly lists this as being 1948)

And Paris also reached 104 degrees in  1765.

The weather in France is getting milder, not hotter. If global warming is affecting them, it is making their climate better.

Every night the weather forecaster says “and a few degrees cooler in outlying areas”  – typically 20 to 40 times larger than Hansen claims.

So what does UHI look like at an actual station? Midsummer temperatures in Sydney show a very strong UHI signature. Maximum temperatures have declined over the past 150 years, while minimum temperatures have risen sharply.

 This probably has something to do with being located adjacent to 20 lanes of asphalt.

The experts adjust for other factors very aggressively, but the one thing they should be adjusting for – UHI – they simply write off.

ice extent stays on the long-term downward trajectory that will eventually lead to seasonally ice free conditions as the Arctic continues to warm in response to rising atmospheric concentrations of Greenhouse gases.

December ends, 2014 in review

Besides the fact that they don’t present any evidence tying greenhouse gases to Arctic ice extent, their graph of historical data doesn’t match the historical record. NSIDC shows very little ice loss prior to 1940, but scientists at the time reported that the ice had lost one third of its area and half its thickness. Obviously this loss was not due to rising greenhouse gases, making NSIDC’s bogus graph even more misleading.

They can’t explain the pre-1940 warming and ice loss, and don’t even acknowledge that it happened. Junk science at its worst.  NASA gave them a boost in this propaganda effort by making the 1940 Arctic warmth disappear.
