The planet hasn’t been warming as predicted, so NASA simply altered the data to make it look like the planet was warming. The graph below shows how they have changed their own global surface temperature record over the past 15 years. All temperatures prior to 1970 have been cooled, and all post-1970 temperatures have been warmed.

They overwrite the data in place and attempt to block web archiving, but fortunately there are a few snapshots of their past temperature data on the web archive.

While most of the Earth warmed rapidly during recent decades, surface temperatures decreased significantly over most of Antarctica.

But that story wan’t going to scare anyone into giving up their money, so in 2007 they simply changed Antarctica’s history from cooling to warming.

Contrary to the incessant lies of the global warming fraudsters, sea level rise rates are not accelerating on the East Coast. Prior to 1995, sea level at Savannah, Georgia rose 2.83 mm/year, but since 1995 it has been rising at only 1.99 mm/year. This is most likely primarily due to subsidence.

According to NOAA, sea level rise rates were much higher along the East Coast prior to 1970. In fact, there was no change in sea level along the East Coast from 1970 to 1990.

It is important to remember that tide gauges are primarily a navigation aid. As such, many of these tide gauges are located near ports and other growing population centers. In turn, it is possible that these sites are subject to local land subsidence caused by ground water extraction; an activity known to be increasing around the Chesapeake Bay in recent decades [Gornitz and Seeber, 1990; Holdal and Morrison, 1974]. Changes in the elevation of the land on which the tide gauges rest would also appear as a changes in the relative sea level.

Tide gauges measure sea level changes relative to the land on which the the tide gauge rests. By itself, a tide gauge cannot tell the difference between local crustal motion and sea level changes. The following figures illustrate this point. The dashed red line is at a constant height in all figures. In the first figure, the water level is fixed but the land has fallen.

Like North Carolina, South Carolina has one long-term tide gauge at Charleston. Sea level there rose faster prior to 1950 (most likely mainly due to subsidence) and the rise rate shows 0.0000 correlation vs. atmospheric CO2.

In other words – CO2 has no correlation with sea level rise rates. Scientists who claim otherwise are either dishonest, incompetent, or both.

One of the big climate fraud efforts is from the fear mongers in North Carolina blaming sea level rise on CO2.

The data provides no support for that theory. There is only one long-term tide gauge in North Carolina, and it shows a steady rate of sea level rise of 2mm/year for 80 years, most likely due to subsidence. There has been no acceleration as CO2 increased.

 If we compare the slope of the sea level line vs. atmospheric CO2, there is 0.00 correlation – i.e. rising CO2 has no impact on North Carolina sea level rise rates.

But facts don’t affect alarmists. They are constantly pressing the North Carolina government with their fraudulent agenda – despite zero scientific backing.

Meanwhile, researchers from NASA and UC Irvine studying the ASE ice sheet report a “continuous and rapid retreat” of glaciers there and think that there is “no [major] obstacle that would prevent the glaciers from further retreat.” They worry that within a millennium and perhaps as soon as two centuries, the ASE could melt out entirely—leading to between four and 10 feet of sea level rise around the world—if moderate warming models prove to be correct.

Of course, we can all play a role in preventing such scenarios by reducing our carbon footprints. Take fewer airplane trips. Buy organic food. Walk, bike or take public transit to work. If you must drive, get a hybrid or electric car. Wear a sweater instead of turning up the heat. And urge legislators to push new laws that limit greenhouse gas emissions by industry, utilities and other big polluters. It may be now or never.
