The last time Obama went skeet shooting was on his birthday last year (August 4.) Given that he says he “does skeet shooting all the time” I wonder if he has another big skeet shooting adventure planned for this year?

On June 9, 1972 at the peak of the global cooling scare, Rapid City SD received 15 inches of rain in four hours. This produced a massive flash flood which killed 238 people and wrecked thousands of homes.

Obama says floods are getting worse now, because (like so many other things) he has absolutely no idea what he is talking about.

On July 31, 1976 the Big Thomson River below Rocky Mountain National Park received 12 inches of rain in four hours. A 20 foot wall of water came down the Canyon and killed 143 people. Five bodies were never found.

Many of the dead were campers celebrating Colorado’s Centennial.

Surprising that this could happen before the climate dice were loaded. Obama says that floods are getting worse now, because he read that on the Internet somewhere.

On July 28, 1997 Fort Collins received ten inches of rain in a few hours. This caused a huge flood on Spring Creek which killed five people.

Flood water —flowing at 8,250 cfs, which is more than twice the peak runoff of the Poudre River — created a lake in the 40-acre detention area just west of an embankment holding the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe railroad line that parallels College Avenue. The water topped the 19-foot tall embankment and blew out a 12-by-14 foot culvert that was plugged with compacted dirt as part of a 1990 flood-control program.

The sudden rush of water — levels rose 5-1/2 feet in 3 minutes — flooded the mobile home parks within minutes, catching residents by surprise and lifting homes off their foundations. Cars tumbled like toys in the surge of water.

Five people died that night — JoAnn Roth, Rose Marie Rodriquez, Estefana Guarneros, Sarah Payne, and Cindy Schulz. Four of the five lived in the mobile home parks.

A few items from The Arizona Republic in early 1980. Six weeks of torrential rain washed out most of the bridges within 100 miles of Phoenix, and the Salt River was running 80,000 ft³/second. That was before climate change ruined the climate.

The US boycotted the 1980 Moscow Olympics, because the Russians invaded Afghanistan. That was of course before Obama declared invading Afghanistan to be the “right war.”

It is 1pm on July 27, the sun is shining, and the temperature here in Fort Collins is 69F. Could it be that the missing heat has finally reared its ugly head?

This week, Gov. O’Malley hosted hundreds of scientists, business leaders and environmental advocates for a climate change summit.

He released what he calls the country’s most ambitious greenhouse gas reduction plan.

“This is not only about icebergs melting and polar bears drowning, it’s also more locally about the 168 Marylanders we’ve lost in severe weather events over the past decade and a half,” Gov. O’Malley said.

The plan includes:

• reducing greenhouse gas emissions 25% by 2020

• cutting emissions from power plants by 40%

• doubling Maryland’s transit ridership by 2020

O’Malley probably wishes that everyone was like me. I ride my bike everywhere, never use AC, and keep the house at 60F in the winter. If everyone in America was as green as me, there would never be any more bad weather – and all the creatures would live together in peace and harmony.

No doubt just a coincidence that the Petraeus sex scandal also occurred right before he was about to testify about Benghazi, and the TARP “crisis” occurred right before the 2008 election. Obama is just a lucky guy.
