1. Because everyone is armed and the terrorist would be dead in about two seconds
2. Because guns are evil
3. Because people who patronize gun shops are not as smart as Diane Feinstein

5. Because you will never see a Prius parked outside a gun shop

7. Because we need to disarm American citizens
8. Because we want people armed only with box cutters, knives and hatchets to be able to start multiple wars and create decades of mass chaos for billions of people

The New York Times says that there hasn’t been open water at the North Pole for 50 million years.

The thick ice that has for ages covered the Arctic Ocean at the pole has turned to water, recent visitors there reported yesterday.

At least for the time being, an ice-free patch of ocean about a mile wide has opened at the very top of the world, something that has presumably never before been seen by humans and is more evidence that global warming may be real and already affecting climate.  The last time scientists can be certain the pole was awash in water was more than 50 million years ago.

President Obama will outline new policies for overseas drone strikes and discuss renewed steps to close the terrorism prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, during a major national security speech Thursday.

He also will “lay out the framework for U.S. counterterrorism strategy as we wind down the war in Afghanistan, and as he looks forward to the rest of his second term,” said a White House statement on the address, scheduled for 2 p.m. ET at National Defense University in Washington, D.C.

In his speech he plans to explain how we need to give up our freedoms, in order to protect them. If he is smart, he will close Gitmo before he gets impeached.

Tornadoes are caused by colliding air masses, rather than some mindless superstitious icon called “climate change” – which all Americans are required by the White House to worship.
