How NCDC Hides The Decline

Bill Illis found this NCDC graph from 1991. It correctly shows that 1934 and 1921 were the two hottest years in the US.

The Odds Of James Hansen Being Competent Are Negligible

Hansen wrote this recently :

We conclude that extreme heat waves, such as that in Texas and Oklahoma in 2011 and Moscow in 2010, were “caused” by global warming, because their likelihood was negligible prior to the recent rapid global warming. We discuss practical implications of this substantial, growing climate change.

US Politics | AMERICAblog News: Quarter to half of species on earth may die from global warming

That is easy enough to put to the test. I counted the number of 40C+ temperature readings in Oklahoma, at all GHCN HCN stations which have been continuously active since at least 1930. It turns out that 2011 was tenth hottest, and had fewer than half as many 40C readings as 1936, 1934 and 1955.

Hansen is either wildly incompetent, a liar, or both. He is counting on the fact that most people have little or no knowledge of history.

Frozen Chicken Found In The Coal Mine

The Interior Alaska town of Chicken wins the winter prize as the first locale to hit 50 below zero this winter.

While Chicken recorded minus 52 this morning, Tok came in at minus 46, with Eagle close behind at minus 44. At the Fairbanks International Airport, temperatures of minus 28 were recorded Thursday morning.

Cold enough? Chicken is first Alaska town to hit 50 below in winter 2012. | Alaska Dispatch

The people who bring us Big Bird, also tell us that Alaska is hot – and it is your fault.

Scientists say Alaska is like a canary in a coal mine, foreshadowing the types of changes we can expect for the rest of the world.

Forecast The Lies

A good look at how climate science ignores science, and are helped along by their fellow Bolshevik travelers in  the press and government.

Brad Johnson, campaign manager of Forecast the Facts and former editor of ThinkProgress Green, stood up and interrupted

“This nation is facing a fundamental threat to its existence, and the people of New York and people all across America are already suffering the effects, the consequences of carbon pollution, and the president has been silent on that threat and is promoting an agenda of increased dependence on fossil fuels. Even with the aftermath of Sandy, the president has still been silent on the reality of this threat, and that silence needs to end.”

Valerie Jarrett’s RootsCamp Speech Interrupted By Climate Activist Brad Johnson

The fundamental threat is from liars like Brad Johnson, and are pushing a political agenda. Huffington Post knows that he is lying, yet happily goes along with him.

Martin Hoerling, who chairs the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s climate variability research program and oversees NOAA’s Climate Scene Investigators, debunked the assertion global warming played a significant role in Hurricane Sandy.

“Great events, like this meteorological one, can happen with little cause,” Hoerling further explained in the Huffington Post. “Individually, neither the tropical storm nor the extratropical storm that embraced it, were unusual. What makes this a rare, perhaps once in a lifetime event, is the fortuity of their timely (“untimely” as far as most are concerned who sit in harm’s way) intersection.”

The Huffington Post reported Hoerling’s colleague Randall M. Dole said the convergence of events that made Sandy a superstorm was just “random bad luck.”

Alex Morgan – The Messi Of Women’s Soccer

ScreenHunter_320 Dec. 01 19.44

I’m watching the women’s US Soccer team play Ireland right now, and Alex Morgan reminds me of Lionel Messi. She has the same ability to find the open spot in the goal  every time, and appears destined to be the greatest women’s soccer player – ever.

Visualizing How Wildly Corrupt NOAA And GISS Are

The graph below shows the number of daily US temperature readings over 40C, recorded at all 595 HCN stations continuously active since 1900.

ScreenHunter_320 Dec. 01 11.30

NOAA and GISS claim that the 2011/2012 heatwaves were unprecedented, when in fact they weren’t even in the top ten. In 1936, there were four times as many records of 40C+ as were measured in 2011 or 2012. The graph above updates the EPA graph below to 2012.

The US was much hotter during the 1930s, and NOAA and GISS are determined to rewrite history.
