I Haven’t Seen Persuasive Evidence That Washington Post Writers Aren’t Complete Idiots

Susan Rice and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), the two people most often mentioned for the position, are well-qualified. Were the president to choose either of them, the Senate should vote to confirm.  But the idea that Rice should be disqualified because of statements she made on television in the days after the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, strikes me as unfair.

It seems pretty clear now that she based her statements on information the CIA provided at the time. That information proved erroneous, and why the CIA was giving faulty information to senior administration officials remains unclear. I haven’t seen persuasive evidence to support the theory that Rice’s statements were part of a cover up to hide a terrorist attack. The fact that Rice was working from information provided by the CIA would seem to undercut such a theory.

Robert Kagan: Scapegoating Susan Rice does America no good – The Washington Post

Obama and Candy Crowley say that Obama knew it was a terrorist attack on September 12.  Then the White House tried to blame it on YouTube, apologized to the Islamic world for the video,  and even jailed the person who made the video.

Climate experts tell us that declining snow cover over the last 30 years is making global warming even worse

The decreases in Earth’s snow and ice cover over the past 30 years have exacerbated global warming more than models predict they should have, on average, new research from the University of Michigan shows.

This exacerbated warming can be plainly seen in the temperature graphs.

Climate experts tell us that Antarctica is melting down and is going to drown us all, because temperatures in Antarctica are declining and the amount of ice is increasing.

1938 Hurricane Could Have Caused $250 Billion In Damages

Nobel Prize winners believe that your SUV caused the 1938 hurricane.

Long Island has hosted at least 20 hurricanes and tropical storms over the past century.  According to a recent study published by the International Hurricane Research Center, Long Island is considered one of the top ten most vulnerable areas to hurricanes.

Five Category 3 hurricanes have made Long Island their target over the past 75 years, including the deadly hurricane of 1938.  Dubbed “Long Island Express”, this hurricane claimed the lives of over 700 people and caused massive destruction on what was then largely undeveloped land.  Over 2 billion trees were destroyed across New York and New England.  That’s enough lumber to build 200,000 homes.

The 1938 storm caused an estimated $308 million in damages.  Some experts estimate that a storm of the same magnitude today could cause as much as $40 billion in damages on Long Island, and up to $250 Billion in damages if it were to hit Manhattan.  By comparison, the total damages caused by Hurricane Katrina are estimated to have been $81 Billion.

New Jersey Enters A New Period Of Extreme Stupidity

Climate change demands aggressive action

“Scientists say global warming is a major factor in the severe weather conditions that we have been experiencing and have claimed thousands of lives, destroyed tens of thousands of homes and property, disrupted transportation and cost billions of dollars to the state’s economy,” McKeon said. “We must move forward to accelerate our fight against climate change.”

The initiative requires utilities in participating states to purchase credits for each ton of carbon they emit.

These morons actually believe that trashing the state’s economy will prevent hurricanes. It is difficult to imagine people being any stupider or more self-destructive than that.

Why would Obama even bring this subject up? It would have made no sense for McCain to accuse him of being a Christian to gain political advantage.
