Maximum temperatures in the US have not changed since 1895, and 2012 was only fourth hottest after 1921, 1925, and 1934.
July temperatures have cooled slightly.
January-September was already the warmest first nine months, according to temperature data released Tuesday by the National Climatic Data Center.
Moreover, six of eight scenarios charted by the center have 2012 ending warmer than any other year in records that go back to 1895. The only scenarios where that would not happen are if the last quarter is among the 10 coldest on record.

This is patently false, and a blatant destruction of American history. An apples to apples comparison shows that 2012 is definitely not the hottest year.
The number of record maximums for stations with contiguous records going back to at least 1930, shows 2012 isn’t even in the top ten.
Even the UHI contaminated average temperature is only number three, after 1921 and 1934.

They accomplish this cheat by subtracting as much as three degrees from older temperatures. Recent adjustments do not even vaguely resemble USHCN documentation, and appear to be blatant fraud.

SYDNEY, Australia — Average temperatures in Sydney will rise by about 9 degrees during the next 65 years, with devastating consequences including 1,300 more heat-related deaths per year, according to a government study released Wednesday.
New South Wales Premier Morris Iemma called the report “frightening reading” and said the federal government “can no longer put its head in the sand on this issue.”
Iemma is a member of the Labor Party, which is hoping to oust Howard’s conservative coalition in elections later this year.

You can’t make this stuff up. There is yet another USHCN cheat going on with the raw data – which I just discovered.
The graph above plots USHCN 2.0 daily minus GHCN HCN daily data. They are supposed to be identical raw data sets, but USHCN 2.0 is doing something to cool the past and warm the present. This occurs before the USHCN 2.5 raw data cheat which I reported earlier today.
These people are corrupting the trend upwards at every step of the process.
Another big NOAA lie is that July, 2012 was hottest on record in the US. The GHCN HCN daily data set (which is supposed to match the USHCN daily data set) shows that 2012 was fourth hottest, after 1901, 1936 and 1934.
