The graph below shows measured maximum daily temperatures for all USHCN stations in Iowa with records going back to the year 1900. recent years have been 5-9 degrees cooler than the 1930s.

The next graph shows all-time record maximums set or tied at all long-term stations. Recent years have been near the bottom of both graphs.

USHCN raw monthly data shows that maximum temperatures in July were much hotter in 1936, but average temperatures were only slightly hotter in 1936. This is because they are reporting higher minimum temperatures now.

Our friends claim that this is due to more humidity in the air because of global warming.

Just one minor problem with that theory – the reason it was hot in the midwest in July was because of the drought, which caused the humidity to be below normal.

Anyone with half a brain will realize that the USHCN temperature record is severely UHI contaminated, which is why alarmists can’t figure it out.

A Glimpse of Hell

Tucked away in the forests of eastern Wisconsin is a town with a story that is horrific beyond belief. Peshtigo is five miles upriver from the western shore of Lake Michigan’s Green Bay and 40 miles north of Lambeau Field. The history books have largely forgotten what happened here on October 8, 1871. Many of the references will note that Peshtigo was destroyed by fire and a lot of people died and isn’t it strange how it happened the same night as the Great Chicago Fire?

Peshtigo wasn’t destroyed. It was incinerated by a fire of biblical proportions. A perfect storm of wind, drought, terrain and combustion stirred up a witch’s brew for weeks that finally exploded into a cataclysmic firestorm very much like those that destroyed Dresden and Tokyo in World War II. For several hours, it created its own weather, including fire tornadoes that picked up railroad cars and turned burning trees into unguided missiles larger than telephone poles. Survivors later remarked that “…this must be what Hell looks like.” When it was done, there was nothing left but ashes. There was no way to fight it and nowhere to run from it.

People didn’t just die in Peshtigo. They spontaneously combusted and were cremated by heat that reached 2000 degrees. They succumbed instantly from breathing in poisoned, superheated air. They died of smoke inhalation, were run over by panicked livestock and drowned in the river where they sought refuge. Others were crushed in collapsing buildings, impaled by flying debris and pulverized by all kinds of things dropping out of the sky on top of them. Still others committed suicide rather than face death by fire. There is one known case where a father killed his three daughters and then himself to avoid that fate.

James Holmes will never go to trial. He will be locked up in a mental institution, the gag orders will remain in place, and we will never find out what the government funded alternative reality research was that he was doing as an honor student at the University Of Colorado.

No doubt it is just a coincidence that his father works for DARPA.

James Eagan Holmes, the man suspected in one of the worst mass shootings in U.S. history, offered no hint of mental problems in early 2011 when he applied for graduate school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The university on March 21, 2011, accepted Holmes into the neuroscience program, offering him a $22,660 annual stipend and waiving his tuition and fees as long as he kept in good academic standing.

Holmes ultimately rejected the offer to attend the University of Colorado-Denver, where he was a student in the neuroscience program until dropping out in early June.

Barack Obama claimed to be a member of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, which he is not.

(CNN) – Responding to an Israeli reporter’s question Wednesday on his commitment to protect the Jewish state, Barack Obama pointed to a bill “we passed” in the U.S. Senate Banking Committee that tightens sanctions and authorizes divestment from Iran. “My committee,” he called it.

Except that he isn’t a member of the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.

“Just this past week, we passed out of the out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee – which is my committee – a bill to call for divestment from Iran as way of ratcheting up the pressure to ensure that they don’t obtain a nuclear weapon,” Obama said at a press conference in Sderot, Israel.
