Hansen has of course erased this warm period – because he has spent tens of thousands of hours studying how to be a real climate scientist.

I just watched the end of the DC United – PSG match. Ibrahimovic made his debut for PSG and scored a brilliant goal in the first two minutes, but DC United came back and tied it.

The US teams have been holding their own against Europe’s top clubs this summer. Perhaps there is hope for the US after all.

I was riding my bicycle home after  picking up sushi for the kids, and it all became clear. The purpose of the USHCN adjustments is to hide the UHI effects in the GHCN data set.

More than half of the GHCN US stations are at airports – and are no doubt strongly affected by UHI effects. Thus the strong warming trend in the GHCN US daily data, which is not seen in the USHCN daily data.

In order to make the USHCN data match the UHI tainted GHCN data, they had to implement some huge bogus upwards USHCN adjustments.

The honest thing would have been to downwards adjust the GHCN data for UHI, but that just isn’t how climate science works.

Muller says that we caused the 0.7 warming seen in the pink circle on the right, even though it is completely in the noise of measurement error – and an order of magnitude smaller than natural variability.

Muller apparently wants to compete with Hansen for worst climate scientist – ever.

Temperatures made it all the way up to -1C and several inches of new snow accumulated. No doubt NASA will have some bright red maps to highlight yet another unprecedented meltdown on the Greenland ice sheet.

I was amazed to find this graph on the Columbia University website. It shows that temperatures are running below Scenario C – meaning that Hansen’s forecasts failed miserably.

Instead of admitting it though, they tried to obfuscate it with a grey block containing some irrelevant nonsense about alti eenie weenie times, and by adding an irrelevant and phony red station only data line.

Here is what the graph looks like with the obfuscation removed. A glaring statement that Hansen was wrong – about everything.

I found the GHCN daily data files, and analyzed their 1600 stations in the lower 48 states. The yearly average showed more than three degrees F warming in the US since 1895 – about the same as GISS shows since Hansen corrupted the data a decade ago.

Here is the daily data for the same lower 48 states from USHCN. It shows almost no warming.

It appears that GHCN must cherry pick or alter 1600 locations in the US to create a trend which doesn’t exist. The graph below shows the massive difference between GHCN daily and USHCN daily data for the lower 48 states.

Most of the GHCN US data seems to come from airports, which are known to be strongly affected by UHI.

So how did Richard Muller come to the conclusion that the world is heating up due and it is due to man-made CO2?

Simple : he used crap data from GHCN to generate the trend. CO2 must be very powerful stuff, as it appears to have corrupted the GHCN database. Garbage in, garbage out.
