This drought may never break

IT MAY be time to stop describing south-eastern Australia as gripped by drought and instead accept the extreme dry as permanent, one of the nation’s most senior weather experts warned yesterday.

“Perhaps we should call it our new climate,” said the Bureau of Meteorology’s head of climate analysis, David Jones.

Sydney’s nights were its warmest since records were first kept 149 years ago.

“There is absolutely no debate that Australia is warming,” said Dr Jones. “It is very easy to see … it is happening before our eyes.”

Four and a half years later – drought in Australia is at historic lows, and Sydney just had their coldest summer on record.

Sydney’s record cool weather to continue

WESTERN Sydney is experiencing its coldest summer on record thanks to cloud and rain associated with the La Nina weather cycle.

Tom Saunders, senior meteorologist at The Weather Channel, said Penrith had experienced average maximum temperatures of 26.2C, while Parramatta recorded an average of 24.6C.

Blacktown hit an average 25C.

Meanwhile, Sydney was only able to record an average 24.6C, putting it on track for the coldest summer since 1953.

The graph below plots US PMDI (Palmer Modified Drought Index) vs. atmospheric CO2. Lower numbers indicate more severe drought.

As you can see, more CO2 correlates with less drought. The most severe droughts occurred with CO2 at a very safe 310 ppm.

For the first time since their record-keeping began 12 years ago, the US Drought Monitor reports that more than half of the lower 48 states are in drought:

The study’s logic is simple. Global warming causes warm PDO and El Nino (which makes Texas wet) therefore global warming makes Texas dry.  These people (alarmists) are dumber than a sack of rocks.

Similarly, the number of record high temperatures in 2011 was less than 1925, despite the fact that there were more stations in 2011.

Barack Obama has only four years to save the world. That is the stark assessment of Nasa scientist and leading climate expert Jim Hansen who last week warned only urgent action by the new president could halt the devastating climate change that now threatens Earth. Crucially, that action will have to be taken within Obama’s first administration, he added

That means that Obama has less than half a year to save the planet, which curiously coincides with the Mayan predictions of doom for this December.

Sadly for the planet, Obama has been too busy lying about Romney 24×7 to take the necessary actions required to save the Universe from certain destruction.

It appears that a significant group of climate scientists have determined that basing their claims on science is no longer necessary, and that it is OK to make up information needed to keep their reputations and livelihoods intact.

Apparently a week of hot weather in Washington proves that global warming is accelerating.
