BOSTON — The hurricane that struck Louisiana and Mississippi on Monday was nicknamed Katrina by the National Weather Service. Its real name is global warming.

The US hasn’t had a major hurricane since 2005, the longest such period in history.

When the year began with a 2-foot snowfall in Los Angeles, the cause was global warming.

This year, global warming was the reason it didn’t snow in Los Angeles.

When winds of 124 miles an hour shut down nuclear plants in Scandinavia and cut power to hundreds of thousands of people in Ireland and Britain, the driver was global warming.

They never used to have wind in those places

When a severe drought in the Midwest dropped water levels in the Missouri River to their lowest on record earlier this summer, the reason was global warming.

The floods on the Missouri last year were also caused by global warming

In July, when the worst drought on record triggered wildfires in Spain and Portugal and left water levels in France at their lowest in 30 years, the explanation was global warming.

The recovery since then was also due to global warming

When a lethal heat wave in Arizona killed more than 20 people in one week, the culprit was global warming.

Hot in Arizona? Unheard of.

And when the Indian city of Mumbai received 37 inches of rain in one day – killing 1,000 people and disrupting the lives of 20 million others – the villain was global warming.

As the atmosphere warms, it generates longer droughts, more intense downpours, more frequent heat waves, and more severe storms.

More humidity causes it to rain less.

Although Katrina began as a relatively small hurricane that glanced off southern Florida, it was supercharged with extraordinary intensity by the high sea surface temperatures in the Gulf of Mexico.

The 1900 hurricane which wiped out Galveston never found the missing heat.

The consequences are as heartbreaking as they are terrifying.

Unfortunately, few people in America know the real name of Hurricane Katrina because the coal and oil industries have spent millions of dollars to keep the public in doubt about the issue.

The global Accumulated Cyclone Energy index is the lowest on record.

The reason is simple: To allow the climate to stabilize requires humanity to cut its use of coal and oil by 70 percent. That, of course, threatens the survival of one of the largest commercial enterprises in history.

We should destroy civilization in order to make incredibly stupid people like the author feel better for a few minutes.

Mayor Emanuel announced Monday that he’s devoting another $4 million to tear down vacant buildings where gang members live and store guns and drugs. Structurally sound buildings will be boarded up. But why are they vacant and boarded up? Why did 200,000 people flee Chicago in the past decade?

Chicago, like Illinois, is overtaxed and overregulated, a climate that attracts neither businesses nor people. It was the ideological incubator for a community organizer who would become president and blame all of America’s problems on those who worked hard and succeeded.

USHCN now adjusts the temperatures from the last 840 months in a row upwards.

In a normal error analysis for a large data set, scientists would assume that any non-systematic error is random. A miscalibrated thermometer is just as likely to read too high as it is to read too low. Human error has no systematic bias. The only systematic error is UHI, which should cause the corrections to be increasingly negative.

So what are the odds of 840 months in a row having temperatures which were read too low by thousands of observers? Two raised to the 840th power. For all practical purposes, that number is infinity.

In other words, there is a 0% chance that the USHCN adjustments are correct, and 100% probability that they are politically motivated, or at best conformation bias.

The climate scamsters have largely given up on global warming, because the globe isn’t warming any more. The new strategy is to blame all weather events on “climate change.” That concept doesn’t actually make any sense, but Pavlov’s dogs are trained to drool and will do so when the bell rings.

The key to pulling off this scam is to convince people that bad weather never happened in the past, and the key to pulling that off is to erase the records of bad weather from the past.  NOAA pretends that that people didn’t know how to count before 1950, and didn’t know how to read thermometers before 2000. NSIDC pretends that there were no satellites before 1979. Data from before 1970 is largely ignored by government climate scientists.

For the greater good of the team, it is also critically important to rewrite the temperature records from the past, which GISS and NOAA have been doing furiously for the past 12 years.

The old versions of GISS were correct, before the data was altered. The 1930s were much hotter. People who rewrite history are criminals.

Claims that we are seeing record numbers of record highs are completely false. People making them are either incompetent or dishonest.

The claims being made that they “predicted the US heatwave” based on climate science are complete BS. The models didn’t predict it, and the heatwave only covered about 1% of the planet

Our friends were very excited to declare a 1930s repeat (10 year drought) after a few weeks of dry weather, but they just can’t deliver the human misery which they long for so badly.

And the calculations suggest that the rise could conceivably exceed six feet, which would put thousands of square miles of the American coastline under water and would probably displace tens of millions of people in Asia.
