So what about since 1999? Temperatures have also cooled in the 12 years since Hansen corrupted the US temperature record.

Bottom line is that the US has been cooling for 80 years, and Hansen et al have completely corrupted the data set.

Michael Hammer has found the original uncorrupted GISS US temperature data on John Daly’s web site. Prior to GISS/USHCN perverting the data set in the year 2000, the 1930s was the hottest decade.

Rebecca is trying to get her audience hysterical about “climate change” and massive sea level rise, so she prints a graph which shows that sea level rise rates have been unchanging and slow over the past century – at two mm/year.

Do you have to prove that your brain is barely functional in order to write or comment at Romm’s site?

Note that the graph shows that sea level rise has slowed since 1960.

We have a huge forest fire burning just west of Fort Collins. It started yesterday afternoon and has already burned over 15,000 acres. The sun is completed blotted out.

Thawing Permafrost

Permafrost refers to a layer of soil or rock that is frozen all year round. Permafrost is found throughout much of Alaska, parts of Canada, and other countries in the far north. You might think a place with permafrost would be barren, but plants can still grow in the soil at the surface, which is not frozen during warmer parts of the year. However, there may be a thick layer of permafrost underneath. As air temperature rises, so does the temperature of the ground, which can cause permafrost to thaw (or melt).

What’s happening now?

Ground temperatures have increased throughout Alaska since the late 1970s, and permafrost has already thawed in many places.

Complete BS. In 1954, Canada had to relocate their largest Arctic community – due to melting permafrost. That was 25 years earlier than the EPA’s claim.
