Pilgrims Nearly Wiped Out By Cold, Drought And Peaceful Native Americans

“The starving time” was the winter of 1609-1610, when food shortages, fractured leadership, and a siege by Powhatan Indian warriors killed two of every three colonists at James Fort. From its beginning, the colony struggled to maintaining a food supply. Trade relations with the Virginia Indian tribes were strained because a severe seven-year drought stressed food supplies for everyone in the region.

Advances in paleoclimatology, the science of reconstructing past climates from records such as tree rings and lake sediments, show how America in the late 1500s and early 1600s was getting cooler and more prone to drought. The trend was part of a global pattern sometimes called the Little Ice Age

Experts now know that drought is caused by warming rather than cooling, because scaring people with mindless gibberish and endless lies is necessary to keep their scam going.

As the US sweltered in a heat-wave in 1988, Hansen predicted that year would be the hottest year on record and that we all would experience an increase in heatwaves, droughts and storms due to climate change. Hansen’s testimony was, according to Rice University historian Douglas Brinkley, “the opening salvo of the age of climate change.”

Since then, pretty much everything Hansen predicted with the science has come true and he has continued to speak his mind, despite numerous attempts to gag and suppress his work, which has remained as cutting edge as ever.

The frequency of hurricanes has plummeted in the US.

The only thing which has increased is the level of dishonesty by Democrats and their cronies in the press and academia.

The House Science Committee

House Democrats are tackling several important science issues.  Preventing Guam from tipping over and capsizing is a high priority for them.

Another signature issue for the party which considers themselves to be the owners of science, is preventing the world from being destroyed in 12 years – via Americans adopting communism.

Most important is keeping children’s birthday parties on schedule, by ensuring an adequate supply of helium balloons.

Important reminder. If you laugh at these experts, you are a knuckle dragging anti-science racist. Who hates the planet.

Clean Coal

The Four Corners Power Plant in New Mexico was widely cited as the world’s single largest polluter during the 1960s and early 1970s.  Some people claimed (erroneously) that the smoke plume could be seen in a Gemini 12 satellite photo. Regardless, the air was very dirty in Northern New Mexico at the time, and the power plant was the cause.

As a high school student, I worked with Mike Williams (pictured below) and his wife Mary Lou on a number of environmental projects, including this one.  Arizona Public Service eventually put electrostatic precipitators on the stacks, and cleaned the air up.

This is what US coal fired power plants look like now – the Rawhide Generating station near Fort Collins. They are very clean.

The battle to clean up coal is over in the US, and now I fight the #1 environmental threat – wind farms.

blades on the more than 4,000 windmills have been chopping up tens of thousands of birds that fly into them, including golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, burrowing owls and other raptors.

Wind farms also kill huge numbers of bats, which are critical to the ecosystem. Like the endangered Long-Nosed bat which pollinates Saguaro Cactus.

Lesser Long-Nosed Bat

Unfortunately the environmental movement has been hijacked (and bought out) by climate scamsters, and now are a huge part of the problem. That is why long time environmentalists like myself and Patrick Moore are fighting these slimeballs.

Northwest Passage – Closed For Business

I shall return just once, to point out how wrong you’ve been about the sea ice, in September

The Northwest Passage has been a favorite topic of climate scamsters for years.

With ice four meters thick, no one is traversing the Northwest Passage. The ice there is the thickest in many years, as it is in the Chukchi Sea.

DMI Modelled ice thickness

My Northwest Passage trip was cancelled last year, because of too much ice.

However, the Northwest Passage was open in 1903.

I haven’t seen this guy before.

I have met one of his Arizona relatives though.

The Day Obama Doomed The World

generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless… this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal…

Barack Obama   June 3, 2008

On June 3, 2008 Barack Obama healed the planet. But six years later he destroyed it.  By agreeing to let China increase their emissions until the world ends in 2030, he doomed future generations into never hearing him tell the story of how he healed the planet.

Climate Experts Vs. Denialists

Teenagers parroting propaganda are climate experts. You can tell by their clothing.

Congress just got climate change testimony from eloquent teenagers

Pamela Anderson is also a climate expert. Her clothing is a dead giveaway.

Pocahontas  and the New York Times believe in science, which is why they take their science advice from teenagers and actresses, but want distinguished Princeton professors censored.

Does CO2 Lead Or Lag Temperature?

People love to debate whether CO2 leads or lags temperature, based on ice core graphs. The whole discussion is a farce. You can make CO2 appear to lead or lag by how you position the two graphs on the Y-axis.

CO2 appears to lag.

CO2 lags temperature rises in ice core data

Same graph with the Y-axis shifted. Now CO2 appears to lead.

CO2 changes as a response to ocean temperature.  Warmer water (and beer) can hold less CO2, so it outgases CO2 to the atmosphere. Cold water holds more CO2, and removes it from the atmosphere. This is one of the first things geology students learn.
