1963 : Hurricane Flora Killed 4,000 In Haiti – Left 50,000 Homeless

It is amazing that in so many of these stories the death toll is 3,000 or 4,000 or 5,000.
Actual real-life tragedies equaling or exceeding the 9/11 attack.
Gaia is like a terrorist all by herself, without any help from human activities.
I believe your site should include a first-person article written by me, Carlton A.Gordon, as a special feature, after having persuaded the Gleaner News Editor then, to allow me travel on a US Weather Bureau Reconnaisance plane through the Eye of Hurricane Flora. The article was entitled “I Fly through the Eye of Huricane Flora”, or something like that. I was on the staff of the Gleaner then. I was also made an Honourary Member of the Fraternity of Eye-Ball Penetrators — exclusive band of aviaviators who have flown into the eye of a hurricane — after the article was published in October,1963. I am now in underwriting (insurance), but still a writer on public affairs. I may yet persuade the Weather Bureau to have me do it all over again when another hurricane comes near enough to Jamaica.
