American cities will face severe problems in coming decades as the world’s warming climate hits the coasts with rising sea levels, causes huge floods and storms in the Midwest, and triggers water shortages in the Southwest, according to a national environment organization.
The Natural Resources Defense Council, noted both for its science and its advocacy, released a 128-page report Tuesday on what its experts see as the impact of global warming on water supplies in a dozen America cities, including San Francisco.

Water shortages in the desert? How long has this been going on? No problem, just tax water into existence.
Don’t be ridiculous: you tax water everywhere else, thus making it economically viable to rather grow all of the worlds’ food in the middle of the Sahara.
Oh, wait. Won’t the Sahara already be covered with newly-economically-viable solar panels? Or covered with endless pools of newly-economically-viable gene-modified algae?

Lake Powell is up by 45 feet since spring. That’s a hell of a lot of drywet filing up the lake.
