Trenberth says that El Nino is caused by global warming, so we can officially say that global warming is dead as a doornail. Just in time for NOAA and NASA to make fools of themselves lying about the global temperature.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Reblogged this on Tallbloke's Talkshop and commented:
An unmistakable tongue of cooler water forming off equatorial Peru signifies La Nina.
No it doesn’t. That “tongue” you refer to has been there for months, even when conditions were El Nino like.
La Ninas will in future be called El Ninos. AGW rules OK!!!
You guys are both wrong, I’ll let Dr Michio Kaku explain…
WRAGGE: What are some of the theories behind this extreme weather, though?
KAKU: One theory says it’s random, natural fluctuations in the weather. For example, we have something called El Nina in the Pacific around the equator, which is helping to divert cold air into the United States….
WRAGGE: Is this the same weather pattern, though, that’s affecting us that’s affecting other regions around the world? You’ve had problems in Brazil with mud slides, Australia’s going through some weather issues now. Is this the same?
KAKU: Similar. El Nina, cold weather around the equator, is contributing to what’s happening in Australia. And I was in Brazil just two weeks ago, where they had monster mud slides, killed hundreds of people because of flooding. Massive flooding. And it’s summertime now in Brazil.
WRAGGE: In El Nina, what are the patterns here? Is it every couple of years?
KAKU: Yeah, El Nina and the North Atlantic oscillations go back and forth every few years and they last a few months. And so we have both effects helping to bring down cold air from the north, while the Earth itself is heating up, creating more moisture in the Gulf of Mexico. And when the two meet, watch out.
Science marches on!
Maybe that is why the trend has been away from El Nino back to zero and now a swing towards La Nina again ?
Maybe that is why there was a swing away from a developing El Nino back towards zero and now towards a potential La Nina ?
Unprecedented? You have fallen into warmer word usage.
Has this been made ‘official’? I really want to trust that it is correct, but…..
LA’ NADA Trending toward LA’ NINA . BUT I REALLY LIKE EL’NINA as the new AGW Chicken Little description.
AGW also causes language weirding.
The mass of cooler water off Peru will only get coolder as we in the Sth Hemi head towards winter & the Antarctic currents swing & deliver much more cold water to Eastern Pacific, the water temp off some Aust east coast are 2.5 degree C above the norm.
If I were a betting man I would bet on a La Nina even up to moderate level which as you know can deliver some rather horrid effects, anyway, good luck.
