Sometimes my food freezes in the main compartment of my fridge when I stuff it way in the back. It’s not because it’s warmer or more moist back there, it’s because it’s too fvcking cold back there. Number 8 duh.

  2. NikFromNYC says:

“It should be understood by anyone professing an interest in climatology that the object of study has been around longer than man and the climate here has varied radically in the last 40 million years. In the Eocene carbon dioxide levels were several times higher than they are currently. The temperature was quite compatible with life from pole to pole. Until we can understand that, or how Earth moved from there to the Miocene, then the Pliocene and then the Holocene, each with its own climate, flora and fauna, we have no good reason to think we understand climate. To make predictions about what follows from here and when, and to audaciously begin the discussion by implicating our humble species in the whole thing is worse than audacious, it’s pathetic.” – Kary Mullis (1993 Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry)

    13. Obama healed the planet while Skeet Shooting. The holes he shot in the CO2 let the heat get back out.

  7. I suppose they would say that sea ice is variable on shorter time scales and it fluctuates a lot around the mean, but the overall trend is heading down.

  8. Bruce of Newcastle says:

    Steve forgot the Gore effect:

In late January [2012], the former vice-president turned climate-change warrior took to the high seas, leading a luxury cruise-cum-fact-finding mission to Antarctica for a bunch of billionaires and policy wonks. They were to see for themselves the melting ice shelf and enjoy what remains of the spectacular views.

After Al’s visit to see Antarctica melting of course it was going to set a record sea ice extent.

  9. ntesdorf says:

    14. Al Gore hasn’t been to the arctic recently.
After the AlGore visit to the Antarctic to see it melting away, the ice extent there set a record.

  10. Billy Liar says:

I think, to quote NSIDC, it’s all first year ice and it will suddenly melt away in the spring.
